why does smoking seem to get so much heat on this forum, but drinking doesn't?

let's be honest here, smoking and drinking are both bad for our physical well being. but what i don't get is why is it that there are some guys on here that are fine with drinking every weekend, but are so judge mental of the occasional smoker? i haven't drank in eight months. i never plan to drink again due to a terrible experience, lol. but I enjoy the occasional cigarette. and when i say occasional, i mean i bought a pack four months ago, and i still have eleven cigarettes in that pack. that averages out to roughly one cig every two weeks. i'm in no way trying to say that i'm better than the guys who get wasted every weekend, i'm just asking why is it generally more acceptable to binge drink every weekend than it is to light up the occasional cigarette?

the people who get drunk (most of them) get drunk on the weekends occasionally.

whereas the people who smoke weed tend to smoke everyday and post debate threads about why everyone should just smoke weed. they also try to argue that weed has no health side effects what so ever.

at the end of the day. drinkers just drink cause it's what is available and legal to do. whereas smokers make the smoking weed as part of their personaliteis

People need to justify their own life choices, and tend to take issue with things that don't really matter.

The only real issue I have with smoking is that it affects those around you via second hand smoke, but lets be cereal here, I am pretty sure more people die from being hit by a drink driver on a yearly basis then people being killed by second hand smoke.

Not a drinker or smoker though, I have a glass of wine with dinner once or twice a month, but I haven't been drunk since my 21st birthday, and I never drank prior to that.

what really pissed me off the other day was when my buddy, who also lifts, told me i might as well give up completely in regards to bodybuilding, bc i occasionally smoke. mind you, this kid smokes a weed weekly and kills a 40 every Friday night. it's just hypocrisy.

that's where you're wrong. i usually smoke in my car away from others. i do it for stress relief. And I don't find anything "fun" about a pounding headache and profuse vomiting.

i know it is possible to smoke on occasion, because, like i said, i smoke on occasion. alcoholism is just as real as being addicted to tobacco/nicotine my friend.

IMO drinking is only bad if you do it constantly and binge. I'm not against drinking, but it defientely can be abused.
