Are Jay and Phil trying to recreate the Arnold&Franco friendship story? Pushing Muscletech products instead of Weider's, of course.

I bet Jay has developed a good solid business approach to this comeback. This comeback can be highly lucrative if done right. Yes, the priority is to win the show but Jay has had so much time to contemplate and realize his inancial potential with walking around in a 270 lb ripped body. Sure hes made alot of money off of the body but with age and wisdom on his side he is really gonna be able to cash in with this comeback.

I don't think anyone is predicting that Jay will come in first or second, after Phil; that's just not the case. That being said, I can definitely see him take the top 5, possibly third, so I am extremely excited to follow his progress. I met him a couple of times last year and earlier this year and he is a truly humble/knowledgeable guy.

Neither would I...This reminded me of the picture I made for the 2011 Mr. Olympia.

Kai is a freaking unbelievable bodybuilder, and if he's in shape he really should have about as much chance to win as Jay or Phil. But (a) as people often repeat around here he may never win for political reasons, whatever that means, (b) as the only one of these three who has yet to win an O he is automatically the underdog next to the other two, (c) the last several years he's had some amazing showings but is typically less consistent that Phil or even Jay. We have a better chance, I think, of seeing Phil and Jay come in strong than Kai.
Optimally I'd love to see a close three-way battle between Kai, Phil and Jay, and there's a chance it might happen. But the more likely scenario is that the contest will really end up being between Jay and Phil. They're the two who are locked in a horserace for Olympia titles, and Kai is sort of the wildcard who will (hopefully) make things even more interesting.
Anyway that's just how I see it. I don't mean to take anything away from Kai, just trying to explain why some people may be paying less attention to him. As much as I like Phil it would be amazing if Kai came in looking so freaky that they'd have to give it to him.Last edited by lotus_esprit5; 04-06-2013 at 09:44 AM.

Jay is obviously leaner than Phil right now, look at his jaw and neck, and compare to Phils fat face. He's slowly ramping up his training and doing lots of traveling yet, his best gains are yet to be had. He's going to grow into the show IMO.
But Phil is looking huge, I'd guess he's actually made some new gains this year and is going to be hard to beat.
I have to wonder if it's Jay's strategy to not go all out until the last moment. This way he avoids injury, gets that bicep conditioned and his whole body in good shape but not too beat up. Phil sees him right now as no threat. Phil is in total beast mode, feeling confident, he's got this... Jay old man you are nothing to me. So Phil slows down a little, lets up, thinks he has it, while Jay goes into the shadows and really hits it hard at the last second, blows up huge, only needs to cut a little for the show because he has stayed lean all year... who knows who could win. It might work for him.6'2"
