Today I added in pull up negatives (Since I cannot do a pull up yet) and I was surprised that it worked me harder than lat pull downs. I did 5 seconds down. Ultimately, I would like to replace the lat pulldown with pull ups. I have always wanted to be able to do pull ups. Would I be better off focusing on negatives? There is an assisted pull up machine, but I have not tried it yet.

Do several sets of negatives first, then finish up with 3-4 sets of Pulldowns. Stay away from the 'assisted' machine.
No brain, no gain.
