How do you stay on track on the wknds???
I'm so mad at myself!! I do great all wk. and then the wknd. hits, my husband is home (not blaming him LOL) and my normal schedule is thrown off because of errands and maybe going out to eat or something. We may even sleep in a little and then I'm just off. How do you do it? Being relaxed like this on the wknds. is keeping me maintaining my current weight and I'd like to lose some. Any words of advice? Any ideas work for you?

Cook the weekend food thursdays night. Put it in containers . Lable them as meal #1 Friday ,Friday #2, Friday # 3 ect. Only eat whats in the containers. If you use tubaware it works great then you can take them with you. Oh and throw in protein shakes and what not as you see fit. It's also great because it cuts down on wasted time during the weekends when theres other stuff to be done.
*NOTE* Just make sure whatever you make doesn't have to be eaten right away and if you want to have oatmeal or something of that nature that gets a bit funky if it sits for a while just put the oats in there and add water when your ready to eat. Or something like that.

sometimes just relax. A cheat meal is good mentally and physically in that if you've been on low cals for a while breaking that and upping cals helps kickstart your metabolic rate and keep it on track.

Weekends are my downfall, not because I'm eating garbage all day, but because I /think/ I'm eating garbage all day.
In actual fact mostly what I'm consuming is beverages.
By evening, I'll have eaten 500 cals, be so hungry that I binge on easy to prepare crap because I'll need to EAT RFN!
So I'm trying to teach myself to eat, eat, eat, earlier in the day.
I'm a bit of a slacker so it's hard.
I might be out of the woods...

I always eat best at the weekend because i have time to prepare!
And I get to go to this great vietnamese fruit and veg shot and stock up on piles of sweet potato and fresh spinach and mango and..... hmmmmm
Ahhh the luxury of time.
Plus I always go thai boxing on a saturday and sunday and i find exercise makes me want to eat healthy.

Just try to get out and do something with your husband like a hike, bike ride, or walk in a park. It won't be a hardcore workout, but you will be outside getting some exercise and away from the temptation of food.

Thanks for the ideas everyone! I like the idea of preparing things ahead of time so I won't skip meals and I thought maybe having 1 workout on a saturday morning might keep me eating clean the rest of the day and hopefully that will spill into sunday. I seem to eat clean on the days I workout. Now I just need the motivation to do it!!!

I like to have one "garbage meal" each week. Actually the meal isn't truely garbage. I don't indulge in tons of candy or sweets or stuff like that, but I choose a meal that I like that has a decent amount of carbs (like a big spaghetti dinner with high protein noodles of course or a cheeseburger and french fries). This way, I'm refueling any carbs that I need to catch up on and also some protein, but my body thinks I'm cheating because it's getting food that I normally don't allow it to eat while I'm eating clean. I'll also throw in a little desert during that cheat meal (like a small piece of cheesecake or a brownie and a glass of milk).
As for cravings, I've mentioned in other posts I make protein pudding, sugar-free fat-free chocolate mousse, and if I feel a craving for some type of alcoholic drink or go out with friends to a party, Ocean Spray makes a great new drink called Diet Ocean Spray with only 5 calories per serving with 2 carbs. I add vodka or some type of liquor not loaded with sugar and voila!

My days off are different then my husbands so I can plan my meals and still eat very clean. Although on Sat/Sun's, he still wants to go out and eat...I just make him pick a place where I can still get chicken/fish and veggies. That way we are both happy.

You know what is sad is I've never went 7 days straight without a cheat meal! Maybe if I do that it will make me want to cheat less. Or I'd make it 8 or 9 days and then binge!
Great ideas!! Keep them coming!

I hear ya...Weekday eating is very structured and well planned and then BAM! the weekend hits. No set routine and you feel like you are off track.
I always always keep a little stash o' food in my purse during the weekends just in case I find myself out running errands for hours. I like to keep a little baggie with a scoop of protein powder, another one with 10 almonds and 1 more with some oats. If I'm out for a long time and havent eaten I know that I can go to a coffee shop and buy a bottle of water to shake up the whey and ask for some hot water for the oats. It sounds crazy and may definiely look crazy (lol!) but it keeps my meals in check when on the go!

Over a month ago I gave up drinking and expected to loose loads of weight - but i replaced binge drinking with binge eating.... ate clean all day, got home and WHAM I decended on my kitchen like a locust and ate everything in the cupboards - because i wasn't going out.
It took me two weeks to stabalise myself (and empty my cupboards :-) and now i seem to be back on track.
If i get that sweet craving i have two tablespoons of oats with some soy milk, a little honey, rasins and some cinnimmon, which I know is a lot of carbs, but dang it's better than the alternative and it stops the craving. Particularly that tricky mid afternoon 'i'm bored in the office and need to eat' one.

That's actually very common. I quit drinking 2.5 years ago and many people move to something else like eating, I did at first, and still am kind of food crazy sometimes, but it does get easier!

My weekends mess me up too. The kids are home, the husbands home, no time, and by that time you are so sick of being on a schedule for the whole week, I just don't want to have to watch the clock, think about what I can't eat, or even what I can eat and I lose it. It used to be Sat and Sun, now I've just got it down to just Saturday. My diet this past Saturday consisted of uuummmm let's see - girlscout cookies (lol). I've eaten perfect since then, but I know that Saturday blows all my hard work. UGH!!! I'll just keep trying.
sorry, no help here.

I absolutely hate the social obligation to drink when going out. I go out 1-2x a month, usually with bf, and I can NEVER get away with no drinking, even if I'm driving. The sad truth is that I give in when everyone else is already drunk and unbearably stupid to be around, and f*** a drunk guy when you're sober just isn't doable to me... I don't get it, is there NO way to have fun without getting high on some body-damaging substance before? Or am I just in the wrong crowd?
