    1g/LBM is usually plenty.

Although with your lack of LBM, I'd think 130 is more than enough.

I could have swore there was an article posted on the front page of BB within the last week or two addressing this issue. Maybe it was some where else which makes me sad because I'd love to cite it. Actually I'm going to go and try and hunt down a study after this. It talked about the benefits to consuming large amounts of protein. By large amounts I'm assuming that means over 80-120g which I think is the recommend amount for the average person. A lot of people love the 1g/LBM rule because it is simple and true. Back to the article discussing what is too much and the threshold, they stated 1.3g/LBM was the threshold point. Anymore than that is completely unneeded and holds no benefits. I'd really love for some one to post something from a credible source. If I find anything I'll share it.

1g of protein per pound of lean body mass = .82g of protein / pound of body mass.

1g is good, but honestly, you can still see results with .8g.

Personally, if you can, IMO the best nutrient split is 20/40/40 [F,P,C], just find out your BMR, if your bulking (at 5"9, 139, you better be!!) add a few hundred calories, multiply it by .2, thats your amount of fat calories, multiply your daily calorie needs by .4 and those are both the amount of cals you need in each carbs and proteins. For fat, divide the number you get by 9, thats how many g of fat you need in a day. For carbs/protein, divide the calculated numbers by 4, that gives you exact g of each macronutrient youll need.

    Hope that helps, small son

I'm at 2 per body pound

This works for me and keeps working. If you take 1 per pound then good. But what if your body is optimal at 1.5, or 2? What is the negative of having too much? Not a lot. Lowest effective dose doesn't fit the bill if you want to get big. Overshoot if anything. My opinion.

Seems like the longer I train the luckier I get.
