This was the Atlanta game all over again. We made Mariota look like Brady. With a few simple read option plays he was able to completely tear up our defense, didn't have to make 2nd reads lol. Offense had a few moments early. Martin looked good before we abandoned using him after that 4th down failed conversion. Penalties all over the place, 9 of them on the offense. We came out unprepared and it was a disgrace. Lovie Smith in his first year spent a lot of money and time investing in players in free agency, then this summer he got rid of all them without much replacements. We spent all but one of our draft picks over the last 2 season on offense and we still can't block, or play any defense. what the hell is going on.

Well, so much for Winston being "NFL ready", and Mariota not being a pocket passer, etc. Maybe the Bucs coaching staff just sucks. How can the worst team in the NFL last year, be THAT MUCH WORSE, then the 2nd worst team in the NFL last year? And please, don't give me that $hit that it's only 1 game etc. You can only be judged by what you've done so far.
Pathetic.

When Lovie Smith and Jason Licht get fired after the season, we better go get ourselves and offensive minded coach. After three straight defensive hires we need a change. Next week we play the Saints. They didn't look great against Arizona but if we play like we did against Tennessee it will be another blow out loss.

After somehow managing to survive against the awful Saints the Bucs go right back to losing a game they had multiple chances to win. Loads of penalties again though this time the defense decided to make the majority of them. Brindza makes a 58 yarder and then has a nightmare of a game. Terrible third down conversion rate all game. I thought the play calling wasn't terrible, just no execution. Winston had some accuracy issues but there must have been at least 10 times in this game where a receiver had the ball in his hands and drop it. There is also zero short to intermediate passing game on this. Everything is a 20 yard ball downfield. Where are the 5-10 yard passes, where are the short routes in the middle of the field. Also seems like no one has confidence in Doug Martin, why bother have him out there.

There were only 3 classified as drops

Others were catchable by NFL caliber receivers but if Jameis puts the ball in better spots there would have been more completions. He had a decent day. Defense blows as usual. So many runs up the middle into 800lb Wilfork when Dougie has his wiggle back and needs to be run outside the tackles.
Not sure if we can beat Carolina with the way our D plays. Winston will keep us in the game though."Fearless, flawless, De Beers in my b!tch ears. N!ggas stuck in they yester years, I'm buyin beers, cheers" - Willie The Kid

i expected the rookie qb to make rookie mistakes. i knew this would happen. there was no way he was going to come out gangbusters, with this squad
what i didnt expect, was how bad the the rest of the team would play. especially the defense. I didn't expect the absolute absence of progress. players are regressing, in their prime. his defense, his scheme, his bear castoffs. the fish rots from the head down. it all starts with Lovie. This team has no fire, no drive. they lack direction, they lack leadership. they lack one win at home in 11 tries
barring something unforeseen, Lovie at the very least needs to take off some of his hats. its obvious that he's not worthy of making so many decisions. Whether it's personnel, scheming, etc- he needs to start delegating."lady who goes fishing with men, comes back with red snapper" ~ Walt Whitman, 1986

Lavonte David admitted the defense gave up in week 1 after Tennessee picked off Jameis and returned it for a TD to go down 14-0. With the way this game started..Jameis dropping the snap, leading to a FG, then a Jameis pick 6,and the missed FG's again, I really think the defense if phoning it in every week.
Glad they cut the kicker today after my last post.

Yeah Brindza had to go. BRB can make a 58 yarder with room to spare but shank FGs less than 40yds away - Da fuk?
We got JAX this week. Would've penciled this in as a definite win before the season started - not too sure now. Really depends on how big of a hole Winsterception puts us in this week. 95% sure he is the one deflating our D after his first half play. They are tired of having to play twice as hard to crawl back into games."Fearless, flawless, De Beers in my b!tch ears. N!ggas stuck in they yester years, I'm buyin beers, cheers" - Willie The Kid

I doubt it. I don't think benching can teach him not to turn the ball over.
Agreed. I think the experiment has gone on long enough.
I'm sure Lovie is a nice enough dude but when your team is a perennial joke, has no discipline, and your defense can't stop a nosebleed it's time to go.★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tampa Bay Skeletors ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Defense actually played well on Sunday. Its just asking a lot for them to constantly have to defend against an offense that starts on your side of the 50 five g0ddamn times.

brindza's 58 yarder was pure luck. im glad to see connor barth back. may not have the foot to get the touch backs, but i wont have to hang my head down when he's up for a field goal. he wont be perfect but he will be better than that other guy.
Bunk hit it on the head. the total ineptitude of progress and lovies "we are getting better" sayings every press conference is getting tiresome. at this point, if lovie was pushed out the door and promote dirk koetter. rather keep him around and with jameis, so we dont have an alex smith/kapernick/RG3 revolving coaches door and hinder any growth. but lovie is not showing that he or this team cares.

Can they fire Lovie yet?
up 24-0 nothing, 24-7 at the half and the Bucs muster 6 fukking points for the rest of the game and give up 24 second half points. I don't understand Smith's obsession with Charles Sims. Martin is running well, gets us down to the 1 and on 3rd and 1 at the goal line we run a toss to Charles Sims? Didn't think they would stop the Redskins on that last drive. I missed large chunks of the game but I assume Koetter went ultra conservative in the 2nd half.MUFC | Buccaneers | Tomahawk Nation

Or better yet, why the hell did they run the ball 3 freakin times in a row at the goaline!? Wtf everybody in the stadium knew what we were going to do. Bucs went full conservative not wanting Jameis to throw a pick in the endzone, and settle for a field goal hoping the defense would hold.

Yes, he did, but also, Murphy & V Jax were both out of game hurt, so it was pretty much Evans (who played sick) and TE's. I agree, pathetic. When a team has been around as long as the Skins, and they make their biggest comeback in their history, you know that's a big deal. Lovie better keep his mouth shut about how good his defense is.

Was at this game by the south endzone. Typical Bucs bs. Came in thinking we'd lose, they get my hopes all the way up, blow a 24pt lead. The major problem on the day was the penalties - they were the main reason Washington was on our side of the 50 the entire second half. You have to give Martin the ball on the goal line or run a sneak with Jameis - a toss is literally the worst play call ever on the goal line. They hit Jordan Reed like 5x times on that last drive but the corners are still playing more than 5 yards off of him and on the outside at the goal line - WTF! Slants all day. It was so bad.
What made it worse was we had a chance to win if Sims(i think) just goes down, Jameis runs up to spike it, then we take a long field goal try. But of course he fumbles it."Fearless, flawless, De Beers in my b!tch ears. N!ggas stuck in they yester years, I'm buyin beers, cheers" - Willie The Kid
