    Is leangains keto?

I was just thinking, does the leangains IF approach kinda work off the same principle as a CKD? I havent seen it mentioned before, but it seems like by fasting for 16 hours a day your body would at least go in to keto for a little while, especially if you just spaced your carbs out to either the beginning or end of the eating window

No. It takes a lot longer than 16 hours to deplete the glycogen stores in your body. You are still using carbs for fuel hours (and days even) after you've eaten them, unless you do HUGE amounts of activity and run a few marathons.

    Yes, in a way.

Both have similar effects in that it's causing your body to metabolize fats/proteins rather than carbs. But as others have said, this is dependent on glycogen depletion.

but ketogenesis doesnt start when glycogen is depleted, glycogen levels only need to reach a certain point. When i start keto im usually in keto by the night of the first day
