What would be the ideal amount of carbs in a protein powder?

    Hi,

I'm trying to lose fat and gain muscle mass (I'm currently 15% fat)
I don't want to lose more weight though.
What would be the ideal carbs amount in a protein powder? I'm currently using Dymatize, ISO-100 which has 1g of carbs per serving and I'm afraid it's too low.

Thanks for any comment or advice.

The best advice I can give you is to go read the nutritional forums. Learn how to calculate your maint calories (macros) and find a protein supp that works within it. Carbs are not your enemy when losing weight. Consuming more calories than expending is!

Add a banana or an apple when you take your shake.

You don't really need carbs in your protein powder. Personally I like mine with as few carbs as possible. Carbs are not something I struggle to get through whole foods in the least. I agree with above though, you should head over to the Nutrition Forum and calculate your macro needs, it is a surplus of calories that will lead to weight gain, not too many carbs or a lack of carbs.

^^ Listen to them. Ideal comes down to each individuals needs. A lot of protein powders have little as possible so it allows consumers flexibility.
