I LOVE how she starts her presentation by referring to it as a diet fad. I always try to characterize it that way as well. For some reason it is difficult for people who are in the midst of a fad to recognize that it is only a fad.

That's a great video. I've always said it's silly to follow the Paleo diet because people think caveman ate that way. That being said it's recommendations for whole food, more fruits & vegetables are much better than some of the other things I see recommended.

eta: And I don't even bother explaining calories and macros anymore because they think it sounds too hard or like some goofy bodybuilder thing. They don't believe me when I say it can apply to all people. Really they just want quick and temporary.

Unfortunately many people need the structure of a program or a "diet" to follow be it paleo, weight watchers, keto, etc. It's a way for them to keep themselves in check and control calories

It may not be essential to live, but for most people it is an essential nutrient to perform at their best and feel well.
