Brown rice, how do you eat yours..?

I'm really trying to reinvent the way i eat to build a lean healthy body which don't have me craving for junk food. I don't want to eat any processed factory made crap full of preservatives and other ****e that's no good. I have read that brown rice is the healthy way to go but it taste so bland..

i have tried cooking it in the oven with meat, veg, onion's you name it, how can i add some flavour ?

Once I realized there was no advantage to brown rice, I began opting for other types which I like the taste and texture of much better than brown.

Try some basmati or some long-grain white.

I actually love brown rice - I get the medium grain, and cook it in my rice cooker using chicken broth instead of water. I add a fair amount of salt, onion powder, and garlic powder to it.

You know, if you don't like brown rice, don't force it. White rice is just as good for you anyway. The difference between brown rice and white rice is simply whether the bran layer is milled off. If you normally buy parboiled rice, the difference is even less pronounced. With the parboiling process, the white rice is made nearly as nutritious as the brown rice.

Furthermore, white rice actually has a higher satiety index than brown rice (Holt et al, 1995). http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7498104

Also, technically, brown rice would be a slightly inferior choice to white rice from the standpoint of nutrient bioavailability & nitrogen retention.

See Comparison of the nutritional value between brown rice and white rice Callegaro Mda D, Tirapegui J. Arq Gastroenterol. 1996 Oct-Dec;33(4):225-31.

I usually add a 1/4 cup of craisins to my brown rice. Minute Rice is a godsend.

For me, the question of whether to eat white or brown rice depends more on what I'm cooking and the cooking times needed. For a quick meal, I'll do white jasmine rice. If I want rice and lentils, I'll do brown rice, since the cooking times are similar. With some garlic powder, turmeric, broth, cayenne and/or paprika, it's an easy, one pot meal.

I normally eat white/brown basmati....or brown jasmine rice. Whatever rice I decide to make I just cook it with saffron and salt. When I eat it I sometimes eat it just the way it is, but normally I'll cook my protein and then throw the rice into the pan and make fried rice + veggies.

I use 1 cup Brown rice, 1 and a half cups of water and half a cup of coconut cream. That **** is good but if you wanna make it better, you can add soy/tamari sauce to it. Also I always cook my rice/pasta aldente, always better imo.
