    Yesterday's workout/macros:




    The deadlifts are a PR. Have pretty much stalled at this weight on the military press. Otherwise pretty much as expected.

    Weighed in at 72.6kg / 160lbs this morning. Got MT this evening, for two hours probably. Will either be two hours' worth of technique/padwork or one of technique/padwork followed by an hour's sparring depending on how motivated I'm feeling. Have hardly been able to spar all summer due to work times etc.

    Edit: anyone else always show up iron deficient on MFP? I'm tempted to think it's just because of user input data hardly ever picking up iron, but I don't seem to show up deficient in anything else on a regular basis so not sure.

    Thinking I'll keep them the same until Saturday, at which point I'll have been weighing in every day for a week, then add 100 if the average weigh in isn't up on where I was previously. After that I'll review the average weight every week and add/remove/keep the same on that basis.

    Did 2 hours MT yesterday, but for the second hour I was mainly holding pads as a few of the guys at the gym are fighting this weekend and this was their last training session. Weighed in this morning at 72.2kg / 159lbs. Will be training this evening but it'll probably be more conditioning based than proper MT training.

    There was a final set of 7 on the tricep extension which didn't quite fit the screenshot. Overall pretty pleased with my workout yesterday: felt focussed and squats went well. Last couple of sets on the bench were a little disappointing, though; felt like I might not have managed the final set without my spotter. What I am pleased about is that despite the fact I've not been in a surplus recently, my lifts haven't actually gone down.

    Weighed in at 73.0kg / 161lbs this morning. Average weight over the week is 72.7kg / 160.2lbs, down on 72.9kg / 160.7lbs previously, so I'll bump calories up to 3,800 and see how I react. My gut feeling is that as my overall activity levels will be down a bit from now on I should hopefully be able to start gaining again at this intake. Today's a rest day and I'll be at the football (Hearts against Celtic, the champions: a big game which we're unlikely to take anything from). May or may not be drinking after (kick off is at noon so can't be arsed drinking before, although I would've in my younger days), so don't really know if I'll be paying much attention to macros today.

    Tbh the terrace culture's nothing like what it apparently was in the 70s and 80s, but the big games are still pretty good. Part of the reason (beside it being on TV) that this one was moved to midday on a Saturday was because quite often if we play Celtic later in the day or in the evening there'll be a lot of trouble in and around the game. When the fixtures are announced now they try to avoid having us against Celtic in midweek and with an evening kickoff because a couple of seasons ago a guy ran out of the Hearts end and tried to attack the Celtic manager haha. Rangers' situation makes it worse too as we're now pretty much the closest thing Celtic have to a rival (not so much on the pitch as off it).

    This game was actually pretty tame in comparison to some though, so maybe the earlier kick offs are the way to go. We lost 3-1, but given that we've got a team of young players who pretty much all came through our youth system and are all eligible to play for Scotland (10 Scots, 1 Australian with Scottish family) and Celtic have a team full of internationals with several players who cost them millions of pounds it isn't really a surprise.

    Sorry, bit of a tangent there haha. I'm liking Gymrat, been taking it in with me and using it to time rests etc and definitely prefer it to carrying a notebook around, watching the clock etc. I've only bumped by 100 calories, but as I said I'm going to be quite a lot less active outside of training over the next few weeks so I reckon a smaller bump should be enough to get me back in a surplus. I'll keep an eye on it though and add more if I feel I need to.

    Man so jelly of your carbs n fats, football here is getting better now that we (heartland of football) west syd have a team in the a-league.
    Years ago it use to be ethnic based clubs but they stopped all that with the new league. West Sydney did'nt have a team for 8 years, i think its the only true national sport here as all states play it. Definitely on the rise.

    On Thursday I had an MT conditioning session and was eating pretty much as normal until I unexpectedly went to a couple of friends' house in the evening for a few drinks. Ended up staying the night. Macros before alcohol looked like this:



    That left me with 1360 calories left over. Thinking back to what I had to drink, I doubt I would've been all that much over/under that (not by design).

    Yesterday I would've normally lifted, but as I'd stayed over and wasn't able to get home I didn't have any of my stuff so just made it a rest day. Macros looked like this:

    Thanks I originally moved onto Madcows from SS, so at the moment it feels fine but when I do move on from it I'll probably go for more volume.

    Gym was absolutely terrible yesterday. Had been thinking about deloading next week anyway and think I'll go ahead and do it now.





    Even allowing for it being the last before deloading, that's a ****ing awful session. Was really disappointed. Weighed in this morning at 73.5kg/162lbs, did a bit of MT today and will do a bit more tomorrow before the first session of the deload week on Tuesday.

    Not checked in in a while so rather than posting MFP logs from Sunday through Tuesday I'll just start again from Tuesday. I did MT conditioning on Sunday and an hour long MT session on Monday before lifting yesterday.




    Felt good going into the gym yesterday so decided not to bother starting my deload. I will again at some point in the near future, but feel like every four weeks shouldn't be necessary at this stage.

    Weigh ins on the last three days have been 73.8kg / 162.7lbs; 73.9kg / 162.9lbs; 73.2kg / 161.4lbs. MT tonight.
