First of all, let me start by saying I am a huge Phil fan. Like a lot of people I saw the last Olympia as extremely close and thought Kai edged out Phil, but I don't think you could complain about the winner either way. It is a subjective sport.
Reason I think Phil will not get anywhere close to Ronnie and Haney, is that in my mind he has maxed out his frame. He has a narrow frame which limits him in the amount of weight he can put on, while you have guys like Kai, Cedric, Jay and others who are very wide.
We saw Kai come in his best condition by far and while a bit smaller, brought his best package ever to the stage last year. On the other hand, I thought Phil actually regressed a bit and was superior in his 2011 form. I think this is not a very good omen for his future dominance, especially when his closest competitor seems to be improving and he seems to at the best stuck in his progress, if not regressing. I look at guys like Cedric, Rhoden, Kai and others and find it unlikely that Phil will be able to hold off the charge.
Maybe Phil comes in bigger and better this year, but honestly, I would be hard pressed to believe it. Ronnie improved every year (well got bigger anyways) from the time he won the Olympia and I just don't see this happening with Phil. While his physique is amazing in its own right, I feel like an ON Kai beats him this year. I will also be looking out for Jay, though everyone counts him out and guys like Ced, Beyeke, Centopani, Victor and others. Not that any of those guys will win it, but I am curious to see how big the gap is going to be.
Last year Phil was talking about cementing his legacy and widening the gap and the opposite happened. I will be interesting to see what happens this year.

Depends on what you consider dominance. Would 4 Mr. Olympia wins be considered the bar for dominance?

I do agree it should be achievable for Phil to regain his from form 2011, but I if Kai comes in with the 2011 size and 2012 conditioning, it is game over in my mind. Kai is larger than Phil, just hasn't been as conditioned when packing on that extra muscle. Plus, Phil looks really narrow next to the wider guys and guys like Kai, Jay and Ced will make him look even narrower.
My main point being, everyone else is improving and has room to improve (especially guys like Ced), while Phil is maxed out on his frame.

Cool post by Phil above. I hope that he does come in the best shape ever and that we have another kick ass Olympia. But he really should not talk trash, as he barely won last year. I wish him all the best, hope he comes in looking better than ever and hope the other guys are in shape as well and let the best man win.

While Phil is narrower he presents himself in a way that makes it not too noticeable. I can't think of a picture from the callout last year that left me thinking Kai was way wider than him.
Also this section has a Phil hate obsession. BRB every new off stage shot we see is proof that this new guy will beat Phil. It's easy to say that now, but on stage the only one who can touch Phil right now is Kai.Last edited by Lvisaa2; 03-27-2013 at 03:32 PM.

He already is dominant OP. Only 9 other men in IFBB history have successfully defended their Mr. Olympia title.

I think Phil will eventually overtake Jay in Olympia wins, hence he will definitely be a dominant champion. He might not be a mass monster like Jay or Ronnie or Kai, but the dude has maxed out his frame so quickly and has practically no real weaknesses with ridiculous genetics(muscle bellies, separation, striated everything when conditioned).

Kai at finals during his posing routine was a amazing package. He lost fullness by the time he got stood next to Phil at the end.. If he can keep his shoulders round and full, add a bit more size overall due to the extra fullness, but not spill over and keep the striated quads and glutes.. I think he can potentially beat Phil. I think that's the plan this year though. He's staying fairly lean so they can get him as shredded and depleted at possible and spend some time before the show working on how to peak, that way the can get him full enough to win.

Yeah he will lose because of width factor(derp shout out to Rommyrhomboid) just like all those other times width effected his placi....oh wait he won. Nevermind.
He isn't Ronnie. But noone is Ronnie or will ever equal Ronnie. He doesn't need to be any bigger, he just has to be in shape every time, which he is. Winning a few in a row could be considered "dominant".Spike92 is 15.
^ place this in your sig to remind the world that Spike92 is indeed 15 and will never be anything other than 15.
