    intermittent fasting questions

    I'm 18, weight 190 lbs and am 6 feet tall...

    been lifting srs about 2 years and i heard about this IF thing.... i am trying to continue to get big while staying lean... so i think i am going to go with the 16/8 IF style.

    my fear is if i do this i will get smaller (please refer to question #3)

    here are my questions:

    1. how would cardio work in with the 16/8 style since i still want to gain weight slowly? should i train and do cardio while fasted? light or HIIT cardio?
    2. would you recomend even doing IF or just stay to my 4-5 meals a day?
    3. is this only for fat loss? or can i do it to lower my bf% and still gain size and strength?
    4. what are your opinions on when to eat in my 8 hour eating window? all post workout? most post workout? should you always train fasted?

    except the pre and post workout meals I don't believe that meal timings are beneficial

    1. Do whatever cardio you want. If your goal is muscle gain I wouldnt see a point in doing alot of strenuous cardio.
    2. Give it a shot. Ive done it for awhile and it seemed to be alright. Depends on how and when you like to eat.
    3. People have and are bulking with IF.
    4. Meal timing does not matter, just get your calories in during your window.

    I wouldn't recommend doing IF while bulking...the whole point of IF was to lose fat...not bulk.

    having said that...you can bulk while doing IF

    Do cardio whenever you feel like it
    2. would you recomend even doing IF or just stay to my 4-5 meals a day? I like big meals, and why 4-5 meals?
    3. is this only for fat loss? or can i do it to lower my bf% and still gain size and strength? Stick to one goal, gain, or lose, you cant do both unless you just are now starting
    4. what are your opinions on when to eat in my 8 hour eating window? all post workout? most post workout? should you always train fasted? I train when fasted in the morning
