I see people majoring in some bullchit like Liberal Arts/English and I don't understand how they're so content with their choice. I know if I was in a useless degree in this economy, I'd be stressed 24/7 about getting a job. srs

Society tells this generation at a young age the key to a solid career is doing well in college. Somehow people have interpreted this to mean having a 4.0 in a softer field, such as sociology or journalism, to be equivalent of an engineering or finance degrees.
Society makes it seem that doing well in college means a good life. Some ppl take the easy route by doing soft degrees.
I understand the necessity of these fields, but when every sloot does it because its easy and their daddy wants them in college, the degrees become worth less due to the overwhelming amount of ppl with them.
Edit: read other replies and I agree. Some do it purely for the enjoyment of the field. I hope OP was referring to the sloots and *******s who brag about having a solid gpa in fields that are considered soft in comparison to others.
I am assuming OP is not a ******* in regards to worrying what others do with their time and studying something they are passionate about. If Bruce Wayne was a bodybuilder, he'd be Bruce Gains.

People do chitty majors because they love it. Some of them are fully accepting of the fact that they'll have a tough time after school and have no problem with it. And if chit hits the fan they just go to Law School or get their MBAs because business school is a joke. I've also noticed tons of people who get humanities degrees come from well-off families. They don't have to take out loans and often have help during and sometimes even after school. Thus getting a job immediately after college isn't as pressing a need.
