Which excercise do you guys prefer?

Hi guys I have a random question to ask you. Which exercise do you guys prefer, incline bench press or incline dumbbell press? Assuming they both have the same weight and bench setting.

Depends on how many reps I want to do. You kinda just detached the comparison there.

Used to prefer barbell but once I got the feel for balancing the dumbbells I loved it. I also train alone, so being able to go to failure and toss that sh*t instead of getting stuck under the bar is a plus lol

I prefer DB's. Better ROM. As nielhunter said; it is easier to bail out, if need be.

Definitely as my contest draws closer, I switch to doing less barbell exercises to avoid injury and get a more balanced workout.

I think as far as strength training, the bench is better, simply because you don't have to lug two dumbbells onto your knees and kick them up, lay back, and get into position as you do in the incline DB press (which takes away partially from the energy you'll have to lift the weight). Even still, during my off season when I'm training more for strength, I think I'll keep incline dumbbells first, because it's easier to FEEL the movement and really contract the pecs, plus you can go to failure without a spotter!
