His point was valid. We are arguing that we Americans shouldn't need a gun. R3L3NTL3SS pointed out a situation that would probably change your one-sided mind. But instead of countering his argument you call him names and generalize that we Americans are all out to kill each other. Same circular argument that we are trying to stop.
His point was that he bets that if someone tried to harm your son whether it be with a bat, knife, gun, etc, you would want to stop that dirtbag from doing so. If the criminal had a gun, how would you protect him? That was the question in case you forgot. How would you feel being totally helpless in a situation like that?
In before I am a stoopid American and the question is avoided again.

Or help other less fortunate humans by donating game to shelters via Hunters for the Hungry.
Europeans only see guns the way the liberal American media wants them to; as horrible tools for taking out innocent children. Back in the day we had guns in our trucks in high school, we didn't shoot anyone. A few tragedies happen and all of the sudden *******s wanna flush hundreds of years of responsible gun ownership down the toilet.

By simply having the gun in your home it's more likely that a family member will be killed than an intruder. Of course you can say the same thing for bread knives and shower curtains, but if you have a firearm in your home then statistically it's more likely that you'd either accidentally shoot the child, or he'd find the gun (or a friend would) and shoot himself.
Given that you're currently going through the process of establishing whether the president can authorise drone strikes on US civilians, what exactly are you being smug about?

Ya, bro, for sure. Since responsible gun owners don't take precautions and train and educate their family on guns. But whatever bull**** misinformation floats your boat...
Lol, and by 'drone strike' you mean they are going to launch a missile at a stolen car? More misinformation from you, color me not surprised. Drones are being looked at for use with tracking, they will not be armed with either non-lethal or lethal weapons.Do I even lift?

Anyone else actually defended themselves or someone they knew with a gun? I have on a few occasions.
First was about a year ago. I was driving and a reckless driver passed and almost struck me, so I honked my horn. He slammed on brakes in front of me to a complete stop right in the middle of the highway. I almost rear ended him. His passenger stuck his head out the window to glare at me. I passed and went around and was just going to leave him behind, and they started following me. I told my girlfriend in the passenger seat of my car to dial the police. She described their vehicle and mine, and I relayed the direction of travel and our location.
Well, this car continues to follow me into a parking lot, tailgating me the whole way. As soon as I stopped, two guys get out of the car and approach me. One of them saying, "You think you're tough by honking at us m*therf*cker?! I'll beat your ass!!" They both were ready to fight me and were coming up to my vehicle.
I got out the car and pulled the flap of my jacket back, exposing my Glock. They both stopped dead in their trucks, one of backing away. I told them both to stay where they were because the cops were on their way, and not to go to their vehicle to reach for any weapons.
The cops arrived about 30 seconds later and approached me first. I showed them my concealed carry and explained everything. Apparently, they knew one of the guys because they dealt with him on multiple occasions.
The cops asked if I wanted to press assault charges on two guys, and I told them I didn't. Then the cops yelled at both and I went on my way.
Yeah, the cops came within a minute, but a lot can happen within a minute.
And that's one of MANY reasons why I carry a gun.Everything you need to know about becoming a male stripper: http://malestripping.blogspot.com

Go ahead and make that bet. He is a responsible gun owner that has a license to carry. He is trained on the proper way to handle a weapon. Should he ever need to defend his kids (which he doesn't have) he would be able to.
Saying something like you just said is stupid. Your child could die (hopefully not) from a guy with a gun or by just walking down the street with just the same probability that his could. The difference here is that should either of you be faced with a situation where it is a criminal, who stands a better chance at protecting their child?
\
Show us a statistic where this is true? Do you have any sources?
Also, as a responsible gun owner you should be teaching anyone in your home gun safety so that this doesn't happen. That's the part that you guys fail to understand. We are talking about responsible gun owners. People that take the time to teach their kids that ALL guns are loaded. ALL guns can kill. NEVER pull out a gun unless you are around. NEVER put your finger on the trigger unless you have a target. Etc.

Yeah...those studies/stats are always so completely fukking stupid when you actually look at what they are and what they mean.
And not only that, but I'm pretty sure he didn't even say what the "study" said, but put his own twist on it which doesn't even match the (completely bogus) "study".
Super massive fail all the way around

No *assault rifle* was used and any mass shooting, it was a semi auto not a full auto assault rifle. Before you ask the AR in AR-15 does NOT stand for assault rifle. It stands for the name of the company Armalite who first invented the the style of the rifle. AR stands for Armalite rifle.
The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living are now out numbered by those who vote for a living.
