    I need some advice...

I started bulking just over a month ago. I've gained about 10 lbs ( I know... it's too much ) and have a few questions/concerns.

I'm cursed as a skinny fat. My original plan was to just bulk to get muscle and fill out... then cut. But now I'm concerned because my waistline is getting larger. I do notice muscle and strength gains... I just don't know if I'm making a mistake by bulking before I get rid of my gut. I'm really open to ideas and suggestions. At this point I'm considering dropping my colories to maintenance (not sure how I would benefit from that though...) or just dropping to 2300 and getting rid of my belly. Anyway, since I'm very new to bodybuilding, I figured I would get some advice from those who have much more experience than I do.

Here is what I've been doing for the last month:

    Weight

    Then: 170

    Now: 180

    Diet

    TDEE: 2500
    Calories: 2890
    Protein: 180
    Fats: 85
Carbs: didn't really set a goal. Once I hit my protein and fats I just ate until I hit my caloric goal.

    Supplements:
Protein (whey during day if needed/ casein at night before bed)
Creatine ( 5g/day after loading phase)
    Multi-Vitamin
    Fish Oil

    Exercise

Starting Strength - 3X per week. Rest days in between

You gained way too much fat in the last month. 10lbs is also way too much weight, as you said. You should gain every month sth around 4lbs.

It is up to you what you should do next. If you dont care about extra fat then just keep bulking and cut later when you gained more muscle. If you feel uncomfortable with your weight then you should cut to lose your belly.

Sry for bad english hope you understand what im saying^^

hmmm it really depends on what you want to do. maybe eat around maintenance and lift heavy, with some added cardio. you might hover around the same weight, but you will get stronger, and you should slowly lose fat while gaining muscle.
Skinny ectomorph, lifting since january 2011. Staying natural even though almost everyone is juicing.

    run a raw diet

    using this simple system

    gluten free dairy free

    is my recommendation

    and remember

    it's a journey

    it won't all happen

    overnight

    but what you can do

is make it easier on yourself

    by lifting heavier

    with more intensity

    get a solid training program

    eat the right foods

    and you'll gain muscle

    and lose fat

have a look at my site

    in the sig below

I'd def drop a few hundred below maintenance and keep lifting HARD. It'll do you good to uncover the muscles being worked. Really motivating as you lose BF when you see new details you couldn't before. Might check out leangains. Gain a little bit of muscle on your cut. Nothing like bulking but I'm sure you'd rather make some progress on your cut as opposed to maintaining or losing lean mass.
