No one cares about 3D. If the PS4 outshines the xBONE it's going to be in textures, lighting and framerate. Sony first party usually takes advantage of this (Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch and Guerilla). When it comes to third party it's up to the developers to do it but I don't see why they wouldn't. The higher quality assets exist for PC versions of games. I see it being like this:

PC - ULTRA, PS4 - HIGH, xBONE - medium

Most people on PC's wouldn't even use it since they use their own graphics cards, with their own vram on them. From what I'm reading, this will really only matter for integrated graphics, like with the AMD A series.

My only fear is that 3rd party developers will build the game to run on the lowest common denominator (xbox one) and leave it at that, essentially wasting extra performance that the PS4 is capable of.

It was the crap that Bethesda pulled with skyrim where the PC gamers got the same chitty low res textures as the consoles had. Same with Crysis 2.

I don't see how it could provide that much of an advantage if any in gaming. Yes if you were benchmarking, I suppose it could provide a greater advantage in theory.

I only read the translation since I don't know German, but to me it just sounds like a biased article.

You don't see how making multiple memory reads/writes vs 1 would make a difference? They are the single most costly computational operation you can make. Like the other guy said though, whether the devs use it or not, is another story.

BRB PS4 will render all games @ 4k resolution 120fps.
BRB Xbone will render in 480i @ 28fps for a "cinematic" feel.

Meanwhile the new killzone will be running at 30fps and not 60fps because the devs said they it will compromise the graphics while the new halo game will be running at 60fps

Dev tools and graphic platform make a big difference. Xbox will use direct x ps4 does not. Ps4 has to compensate with more power due to less optimization for devs.

wii 1 had this problem. people made games for ps2 and then ported it over to wii.
