Stumbled upon this topic/thread about about two/three months ago. Me being a psychology student I immediatly found it very interesting and decided to give it a go. Watched the Gary Wilson Tedtalk and read the whole benefits pdf file (read that chit if you haven't)

Made it till day 42 on my first attempt. Failed because i hooked up with a chick. Made out on the first date but she wassen't down for sex. Ended up with insane blue balls, coulden't even walk straight (srs) and caved in. Had sex with this chick three times in about two weeks time, also mastrubated about three during this period (one time with porn).

Anyway stopped seeing this girl, on my second attempt now and hopefully able to make it to at least 90 days. Currently on day 10 decided to post in this thread from now on in in order to increase my motivation and make sure I keep going. Got a new date lined up for next week. Girlfriend of one of my best mates set it up for me and its gonna be sex for sure. I'm determined to not let it cause a relapse this time round. I actually waited 30 days before having sex with my gf, which for us seemed like an eternity.lol! We usually averaged twice a week.I did have somewhat of a chaser effect afterwards. Having the big "O" had my body and mind wanting more. The subsequent days that followed were more challenging, and I had to fight off the urges a little more to pm.

Porn definitely hijacked my brain and sex life. Sometimes I had trouble finishing, and had to visualize an adult actress to finish. That is some sad chit and I never want to back to that. Its day 5 for me, started last month failed 2-3 times with 7-10 day streaks.
One tip that helped me to reach day 5 easily without struggle was not keep busy with nofap. Tracking your days, looking for ''motivation'' or sharing experiences whatever.

Mistake: Focusing Too Much On NOT fapping

As long as porn is in your mind, you will have a lot of trouble letting it go.
The correct approach is to just forget about it.
Stop obsessing about what day you're on.
Stop posting on threads stuff like "Omg quitting porn is so difficult, the urges are so strong!"
Stop hanging out too much on this forum.
Just forget about porn. Disregard it as an option in your life.
Focus your mind on the stuff that matters. Your family,your health,your dreams,school,self improvement books.
When urges arise, watch them mindfully. Observe them. Do not react. Do not suppress them. Do not push them away.
If I get urges what works really well is go to into a room and yell into a pillow a few times and my urges are gone.
Focus your mind on something else.
Watching porn is not an option. It's not a part of your life anymore. It's a thing of the past.
