If you're hungry, then eat what you're in the mood for. If you're not hungry, then don't eat anything.

    Steak sammich.

Just don't try to eat one during sleep.
    No brain, no gain.

You're 16, just eat when you're hungry. If you're hungry before bed, eat. The only way you'll gain weight is by creating a surplus of calories from your maintenance. Monitor your progress using the mirror and a scale and go from there.

I would advise minimal carbs, slow digesting protein and a bit of fat. Cottage cheese is always a good option or a casein shake if you wanna buy some. I sometimes have a couple of spoonfulls of peanut butter if I want something small but calorie dense.

Serious question: do people still think if you dont eat before bed you will lose your gains?
There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?

During my first 15 years of training, being under the spell of the bros, I believed this to be FACT. Every night for that 15 years, I dutifully choked down a bowl of cottage cheese, so I wouldn't go all catabrolik and looz muh gainz.

Then I ran head-first into Alan Aragon in this forum, and after his postings finally began to seep through my thick skull, I was exposed to science, and realized I'd been bull****ted for years by the supp ganefs and their primary agents of nefarious misinformation, the muscle magazines.

The clouds of broscience all blew away, and the sun came out.

But the muscle mags, as well as most of the articles in the 'articles' section of this site, still churn out loads of what comes out of the South end of a North-facing bull in regards to nutrition timing, protien requirements, and on and on and on. The kids posting on this site soak it up like little sponges, thinking they've found the holy grail of quick muscle gain, and the cycle of broscience goes on.

Have a cup of greek yogurt plain, with 2 scoops of whey, add water. Throw some peanut butter in there if your bulking.

You won't get any gains unless you buy the most expensive tub of casein you can find. ( not srs ). Only eat if your hungry, meal timing is irrelevant

Apparently so. Some guys at the gym think I'm trolling them when I tell them that on some days I don't even eat after my workout, I go straight to sleep.

People are quick to forget that the digestion cycle is about 50 hours, so if you eat a big meal in the morning, it can carry you a long way through the day. And it is very possible that the whey that they take immediately before bed won't even be 1/5th digested by the time they wake up, if they were already on a full stomach to begin with.

You dont have to eat in your anabolic window and you dont have to eat before bed.

I found this out when reading through muscle mag's. They tell you to consume a slow digestive protein right before bed and in another article they say dont eat 2 hrs before bed. Broscience is contradictory
    Eat. Sleep. Lift.

Right. It's all trial and error. What works for one lifter doesn't mean it will work for the next. People are just so scared to try something for a few weeks and see if it works. I used to buy muscle mags when I first started but realized I was buying more of a advertisement mag than anything else
