    Teen caloric needs?

So I usually hear that teens need more calories than adults, but how many more? Maintenance for me (if sedentary) is about 1600 on regular calculators but ones for teens bring me up 300 cals. I want to calculate a surplus and I worry that if I'm using a number that's too high or too low I won't get the right results. How can I figure out my real caloric needs?

I really wouldn't depend mostly on the calculators because they usually don't give the right amount sometimes varying some other factors. But i'm pretty sure your calorie maintenance intake is probably around 1700-1900 but i recommend just trying to play around withe the numbers like start out with 1700 and if you're losing weight or not gaining at all then bump up the calorie intake about 100 calories every week.

just making a shot in the dark here but if you are 118 lbs, you prolly need more than 1900, especially if body building. It's hard to find out exactly how many you need, so I would use a calculator that is body building/workout specific like scooby's

dont worry about eating too high its better to eat too high and get a small ammount of fat over 6 months then eat too little and see no gains

presumably you want to bulk so try eating atleast 2500 cals every day

    Eat about 2000 if cutting.

If you're bodybuilding and trying to bulk up, you'll need to eat more than 2000 calories especially since you're very skinny.
