Working out around my shift work

So im currently working a 4 on 4 off schedule and I am finding that when I'm trying to workout during my 4 on I am way to exhausted and dont seem to be giving it my all because I am literally working non stop right now where as on my days off I seem to always be motivated to goto the gym and dont really do anything else other than workout on the days I'm supposed to. I was wondering if you guys had a suggestion because I'm thinking working out 4 days straight and then taking 4 days off wouldnt be good. But I'm no expert in this matter.

Right now I am doing a routine like 2 days workout, 1 day rest, 2 days workout, 2 days rest.

Rest is essential to muscle growth, but yea 4 days on and 4 off may be a little too much. It's not enough for atrophy but it is kinda pushin it. Are you a fireman or something working like that? Have you ever tried pre workouts or anything to help you get focused?
