should i be pushing my reps out like a machine or should i go slow while doing them? i've heard that if you go slower it stresses the muscles more and you get better results.

For sheer muscle endurance and hypertrophy, a slow pace is better. Speed work is important too for generating power, but it's more of a skill thing and less of a bodybuilding thing. Some people say it works better for hitting fast-twitch muscle fibres, but that's what weight increases are for. Bulding mid-twitch never hurt anyone.

x2. They will hit muscle differently.
However, going extremely fast consistently will end up injuring you, while going too slow consistently will overly fatigue you.Bodybuilding is 60% training and 50% diet. Yes that adds up to 110%, because that's what you should be giving it. Change the inside, and the physique will follow.
