Meat protein vs whey or casein protein

I wanted to see if anyone can lead me to a research study (tried for a while to find a good one to no avail) that shows the difference between using whey protein and just eating a protein rich food. I am having trouble finding the time even while on IF diet to eat at least 1g per lb BW. I am averaging about 150 grams of protein a day. I get way to full eating more than 7-8 oz of chicken/beef/fish. I have tried hard boiling eggs and can only stomach 3-4... I was a fat kid with a small stomach since I only always ate candy or sweets that made me fat. (correction I made myself fat by eating them lol) After a week of tracking on my new cut my average macros are looking like 40/20/40... Cutting on 1800 cals.

Do some of you just always throw in 1-2 protein shakes a day and if so I wonder how much of a difference it makes if any....
    Starting Weight 255lbs. 2/1/2011
Best weight so far 187lbs 5/1/2012 - Then got a hot gf a boat and gained fat lol...
    Starting again for the finish line of 180lbs - 11/1/2012 @ 201lbs

There's no difference between the protein from chicken or a shake, except that chicken is much more filling. I usually have shakes when I'm in a hurry or something and need an easy 40g of protein without cooking.

I couldn't point you to a study, but I've read articles that disprove the idea that whey is the best source of protein. I'm not sure why that's even a myth to begin with honestly. I just like my shakes because theyre easy and tasty

i'm not aware of any real studies out there, but i can tell you this: every molecule of protein has the exact same chemical make-up, whether it comes from powdered whey, or from a chicken breast. protein is protein. the only difference would be what the previous guy said, that chicken will be much more filling than a shake.

Whole foods are always superior, but for your goals there's not going to be a significant difference.

You might find this useful though

As others have said im not really sure of a study that states one is better than the other but prefer to get my protein from whole food sources. no real reason though.

If im understanding you correctly that cant be true because some proteins are considered complete proteins and others are considered incomplete proteins.

Apparently that theory has been disproven now. I have heard about this in the 1990's never knew it has been since disproven.

edit....Well it is somewhat true in some foods themselves but the body pulls from resources later to complete them.

Proteins from food sources are more filling but that is pretty much the only real difference.

I believe your body burns a certain amount of calories digesting protien from whole food, I would assume it doesn't burn as much calories digesting a protien in the form of isolate powder.

A complete protein contains all essential amino acids where as incomplete proteins to not. This probably doesn't matter much in the quantities we eat protien. It might if you were in a 3rd world country eating 30g/day.

That said, whey is isolated and has had a good chunk of the micro nutrition removed in the process. It's always better to get your protein from a whole food source. Whey is there when you can't cook or don't have time.
