Did I get a good deal on this Whey Protein?

I went to my local Rite Aid for some Whey Protein. I came across a 5 LB tub for $75.99, and struggled in deciding to buy it or not. I thought about buying it online at a cheaper price, but didn't want to wait to receive it via shipping, and figured that the shipping charges would make any difference in the total price negligible. So, I decided to bite the bullet, but luckily for me, the cashier used his discount card on the purchase because I waited humbly and quietly in line, so I wound up paying only $50.00. How's that? Now I can compensate for the lack of protein in my diet; I can cram in only about 120 grams daily, but need about 150 grams daily. What do you guys think?

It's not just about the weight, but the convenience of adding a decent amount of protein to my daily diet without making my stomach explode. Also, it's easier to spread its consumption over a long period of time.

At your weight, you reach protein sufficiency at 120 grams. If you're not reaching that target from your food intake, there's something egregiously wrong with your diet.

I have no problem fitting in 120 grams of protein into my diet, but I do have a problem squeezing in more, which is why I bought the Whey. I was told that at least 1 gm of protein per pound of body weight is necessary to grow muscle.

btw op this is 53 dollars for 5 lbs of a good quality whey. this is also considered overpriced according to some other whey products. I buy it cause it is a good company.

I don't understand why one needs to have pity for someone buying Whey protein. You did fine OP. No need to worry about a few bucks. I spend $10 ~ $12/lb. on Whey Isolate that has no other ingredients.

Decent price, but it you keep an eye out online and plan for ahead of time you can certainly get protein for less than $7 per pound and less than 2.5 cents/gram of protein.

I was thinking of getting Isolate, but it was more expensive, and I read here on these boards that it's not necessary for anyone who doesn't intend on getting down to 5% body-fat or less.

I like the fact that there isn't anything but Whey in the Isolate and the digestion factor is obvious compared to lower quality concentrates.

i snagged up some dymatize 2.91lb tubs with a free shaker bottle from the grocery outlet for 14.99each..picked up 3 of them so 8.7lb for 45$...and 3 shakers...so naaaa not a great deal....

in a lab analysis consumer reports found that many of these proteins have high levels of toxic metals.

ON had the lowest.
I am not saying yours doesnt but you can never be certain
