    SAM-e anti-inflammatory? Avoid circa workout?

    Hi,

(I would much appreciate NO HYPE's input on this, as I've seen a number of his posts on SAM-e.)

I'm considering using SAM-e to aid with depression symptoms. However, it seems that it is also an anti-inflammatory drug (aids with osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia). Should I avoid ingesting it close to workout time? Would certain dosages of SAM-e in any way interfere with muscle growth/recovery?

    Thanks.

I really don't think the use of SAMe will have any appreciable impact on muscle growth and/or recovery.

Neither do i. You'd want to avoid dosing SAMe with hepatotoxic products but that's about it.

On a side note, make sure the SAMe is enteric-coated.

Well I don't normally use it anyway however, in the OP.... there were 3 other reasons to use it.

Nonetheless.... what hepatotoxic compounds were you refering to?

I was too but I believe he is applying the milk thistle don't dose it with your methyl's because of possibly androgen receptor binding affinity to SAMe, while worded poorly I believe he is trying to say use it while on, but dose it at a different time.

    No, it wouldn't.

C-17 alpha-alkylated oral agents cause hepatotoxicity and SAMe should be dosed away from said agent(s).

It's how SAMe acts with methylation. SAMe actually blocks upstream methylation via feedback inhibition.
