    new pr squat

New pr today on squat. This was after do leg press of 838 in similar fashion but higher reps.
    155x10
    225x8
    245x8
    255x5
    255x5
    245x5
    225x6

You think its better doing it with the weights being adjusted like this or find a weight that I can do a 5x5 with and progress up with that. Or it doesn't matter at all,as long as there is progression. All the weights im doing I am increasing weekly now-2.5-10 lbs on certain sets without going to 100% failure. We are avoiding that for awhile.

I figured you were just going off of the estimated 1RM of 287.

Im sure the estimated 1rm has value figuring thing out in your workout if you are using percentages when lifting. Prob other things I have no idea about.
Its nice in theory but if I dont lift it I dont count it.

Excellent job! I find for me that it is best to do it with the weights adjusted, as you say.

A word on failure with squats; I do not believe you make any progress missing a lift; you only make progress when you make a lift. Therefore I would never go to failure on squats.

Good point on failure. To me it's more of a safety and pride thing, I don't want to be that guy in an fail video. Best to stop when I realize another rep is questionable at least on squats.
