I remember a special on the Discovery channel talked about it and they scanned the brains of transgender women and men. The transgender people showed similarities in their brain to the opposite sex, showing evidence that it is possible to actually identify as the opposite sex.

the concept of conservation is essentially the understanding that things can be viewed from a different perspective, and appear different, without actually BEING different. But hey, here we are.

It is surprising and worrisome that a psychologist or psychiatrist is not being consulted, especially since they would happen to be the expert in such a matter.
