I don't believe these traits are gender specific but more related to a person's fundamental personality. You have people that are independent and those that aren't. A person that is dependent on other people (whether that is physically, emotionally or financially) are going to jump from one person to the next or return back to their parents/family. Some people have a tendency of taking that aspect personality when in reality it is an aspect of their survival mechanism and completely instinctual. They don't know how to exist without others

I think watching what you eat now days is seen as "high maintenance" for a man. Let alone counting and meeting macros.

But maybe that's just in my head.

She's not gonna know what it's like until she tries it. She'll probably think it's "cool" when she first meets you, then later get annoyed. It depends on the person. I know first hand that I never really understood until I started watching what I ate. Cut her some slack if she doesn't get it at first, and if she's cool she probably won't care at all, or she might even be inspired by you to do it herself. You probably want someone who will support you anyways.
