Back from my 4 month hiatus!
To sum it all up, i've been living the life of a Floridian pretty darn well. Instead of trekking through snowy slushy NYC streets in February, I'm bike riding trails along the coast. Instead of sitting at a computer screen for 8-11 hours a day, I'm out and about on different projects enjoying the freedom of small business.
Workout and food life has been consistently inconsistent since I last wrote, but somehow eating lots of bbq and moderately working out has brilliantly got me down to 146lbs, the lowest i've been since starting grad school in 2009.
Anyway, between then and now I've lessened pure weight lifting and incorporated a lot more crossfit/plyo/circuit training routines as my new gym has awesome toys [prowler, box jumps, battle ropes and a huge tire to flip] I plan to keep this up and get as absolutely shredded as possible with as much leniency and mental health intact.
I've been pretty awful with staying 100% gluten free, but since avoiding it in 85% of my diet, my outbreaks aren't as bad when I do have it. The only thing I ask of myself nowadays is to be smarter with the gluten, drink much more water (phlebotomist had a hard time getting some blood from me today cause I was dehydrated) and get better at waking up for morning workouts.
oh PS.
progress pics posted at my discretion.

Oh wow, i totally have to relearn smiley and font codes in here
Anyway! was in a funky mood after work and with my whole lower body still recovering from a workout 2 days ago, I decided to opt out of lifting yesterday. However, Meg and I still made it to the gym for the push up contest where she nailed out... get ready... ready.. 50 pushups in 60 seconds!!!! Despite that absolutely amazing effort, I think she took 2nd place as 61 was the number to beat. First place will get trophy and months worth of supps.
I on the other hand, did not enroll myself in this contest because I'm well aware of my strengths and weaknesses and without a doubt, I am far from a push up pulvarizer (and by far from a push up pulvarizer, I mean i'm lucky if I can get more than 10 real ones)
In good news land:
- I've seen significant progress in my biceps over these past 7 months
- I've recently tasted 2 really amazingly delicious foods .. 1) dannon light & fit vanilla greek yogurt (80 cals, 12g protein in 5.3oz) 2) Trader joe's gluten free brownie mix (omg its just delectable)★Good things come to those who hydrate ★

thanks so much for saving me from general female section exile.
things are going very well. Fell off the wagon these past 2 weeks with tons of chinese bbq and french fries but i've got a tone of drive in me now, sitting at 153.5 and ready to melt away the jiggles.
I've tried to catch up on yours as much as possible but there's so much traffic in it I know the last I read you passed on a sales type job, was still searching and living with andrew. Can I get a quick recap of your life now?★Good things come to those who hydrate ★

Haha! Sure
That sales job blew and eventually we ended up going with a hiring agency who positioned the both of us into real office type positions! Both places hired us both on permanently, and now we make a pretty decent salary for two people just starting out I'm with a large company doing a lot of administrative/reception type of work, and Stephen's at a University doing payroll stuff! Very happy with how things turned out We're getting an apartment of our own just as soon as the renovations are done upstairs from Andrew!!! Putting our deposit down in the middle of next month and moving in at the end of April!!! Super excited about that!!!!
I'm still so happy you and megin met up and are still such good friends!! That's amazing Glad you're having fun! Food sounds yummers!!!!Team Cookies Give You Superpowers

153.5
Energy was at good levels all throughout the day and into the evening and I expect this to hold for as long as I stay gluten free.
Got hairs cut after work and hit the gym for...
5 rounds
120ft prowler push,175 lbs
20 seconds on battle ropes..
.. with a dozen 21in box jumps and ab work haphazardly thrown in
I knew your and Stephen's time would come where you'd have your own place. I remember when you would vent about living in a room in his parents house, so that's VERY very exciting Lori.. you guys deserve that.★Good things come to those who hydrate ★

^There was the possibility I'd lose a tad of scale weight from the haircut but that plan fell through.
Got up pretty effortlessly for a 6am session. Energy levels were great considering i was preWO supp/caffeine/food -less.
3 rounds for time:
- walking magic carpet ride
- 10 front squats
- 50 jumping jacks
Got through it in 16 minutes, followed by 100 cals on treadmill.
The day continues to excite with 76 degree weather upon us and a 7pm softball game. [ It's been so so nice to be able to play ball year round.]
Everyone should be perspiring to greatness today!
I leave you with beginning pics. This is where we sculpt from

Aww, thank you! I was happy before we moved, but I always had this feeling of uselessness that ruined it. Being stuck down there and not being able to find work was SO discouraging! Even though we're away from our family and friends now- I couldn't be happier! It's a great feeling to have accomplished something Getting an apartment will be so fun! We're planning on moving back there in a few years, but hopefully we'll be much more prosperous next time around
Awesome starting pics!!! You have a great shape, and I see some nice muscles under there! I laughed when you wrote that you were expecting the scale to drop since you got your hair cut! hahaha!Team Cookies Give You Superpowers

Today's 'Za was DELICIOUS.. brown rice wrap crust, canned chicken breast, sauteed onions, peppers, light mozz, scallion, bbq sauce
i'm im same boat. Family/friends in NJ, im in FL now, but the lifestyle suits me so much better.
Thanks. There is a decent amount of muscle under there, but I'd say between ending my period soon and irresponsible food choices the past few weeks I'n a bit on the fluffier side. Also was told by roomie I should learn how to properly flex/pose and I'm gonna be more aware of that to make the most of my progress.★Good things come to those who hydrate ★

154lbs
It's about that time where I go for simplicity and take a stab at intermittent fasting again [this time with a little IIFYM mixed in ]
Fast started at 9:30p last night
10g BCAAs pre workout
banged out chest and shoulders hypertrophy w/ meg @ 11am
Broke fast 1pm with grilled chicken caesar salad [great session..my pecs already started to hurt bringing the fork from the plate to my mouth]
Will eat a filet and bunless cheeseburger w/ plain mash from chilis tonight.
In the market to buy new tub of BCAA's. BB.com has musclepharm Amino1 .. 3 tubs for $47 (buy 2 get 1 free).
Anyone use this brand before?
Anyone ever even notice a difference in brands for BCAAs?
Also got blood work results back in from annual physical. I'm a healthy spring chicken, except for 3 things minor things, of which 2 may be related to my gastro issues.
1)MCV (mean cell volume) higher than average @ 106. I'll try to post nicer comments to you guys..
MCV is measure of the average red blood cell size that is reported as part of a standard complete blood count.
High count can be from vitamin b12 deficiency (which I think would be the case from celiacs)
2 MCH higher than average at 35
3) there was a trace amount of occult (hidden) blood in urine. I was still on my period so i'm assuming it's from that. Even if not, it was a trace amount so nothing to be concerned about.
Lots of rest and relaxation tonight. Must fight off soreness so I can play 5+ hours of softball tomorrow.★Good things come to those who hydrate ★

Game plan for today: rest up more, soak in another bath, review all meals eating now threads for new inspirations and do some light exercise w/ resistance bands.
Power upper will be bright and early tomorrow!★Good things come to those who hydrate ★

3/4/12 ★Power Upper★
Poundage: 154 .. Although I should really find a way to start weighing after i drink my morning coffee.. keeps me regular, ykno..
Damage Control: All the above. Left side of neck surprisingly took the brunt of Saturday's 6 hour extravaganza from batting righty tighty and turning my head left to see pitch. Triceps came in a very close second.
Training: Forgot BCAAs this morning so the workout was the real deal 100% fasted. Assisted pull ups and dips getting stronger, had to drop from 20's to 15's on seated db press.. too much hurt going on in the neck area.
Diet: 1800, high carb, low fat. About 530 cals down already from dem food below. Will enjoy the last 1270 after work.
Homemade beefy bean chili with 4 cheese mexican blend & garlic grilled shrimp
Oh and i pickdid up these goodies for some sludgy concoction:
New limited edition strawberry shortcake ice cream, Crunch bar mix ins, chocolate swirly moon after me lucky charms

3/5/13 ★Rest Day forced upon me★
Poundage: 1fitty4
Damage control: Left side levator scapulae still giving me significant issues so I responsibly decided to skip the gym this morning. I'm now on day 2 of shíttest sleep, so I will be obnoxiously doing this stretch all day -->
Diet: 1400 - low carb, hi fat. Already have some hunger pangs which I'm sure will go away when I have the taste of dentist fluoride gook up in my mouth in a half hour.
Trust me, every bite I take gets you one step closer to first place.
*takes bow*
I'm doing a mix of IF with IIFYM. Ended last night with 1520 cals.
at least I warn you..★Good things come to those who hydrate ★

I have a tight left trap/neck thing. If I don't stretch it for a few days it becomes excruciating and then stretching it REALLY hurts! The door frame stretch is good too: http://www.livestrong.com/article/10...pezius-muscle/Team Cookies Give You Superpowers

Shít, I've been outed. Um - Neck pain was really bad a few days this week, still lots of crappy sleep .. even let like, 3 tears fall so, again, decided responsibly? against the gym and increase rest.
Had really bad blurry vision two mornings when I did intermittent fasting without BCAAs, so I ate glutenous things that were around . Now i'm dealing with the lethargic foggy aftermath.
Don't worry friends, i will prevail. But first, I take a nap..★Good things come to those who hydrate ★
