No, but after watching this video and doing a little reading I quit all soda products 3 years ago and haven't looked back... Take a look at Phosphoric Acid and what it does towards the end of the video!!

    Not entirely that simple.

I have seen people be kicked out of keto drinking diet soda's and having keto friendly sweet foods. The theory is that while the soda itself has a negligible impact on your blood sugar, the very act of you preparing yourself to ingest something sweet can cause your body to release insulin to help regulate the sugar that is about to enter your body, or so your body thinks. It's the same concept as when you are very hungry and you see a big plate of delicious food. What does your body do? It will start making your glands salivate to prepare you to digest the meal your body thinks you are about to eat. Same could go for really sweet food on keto.

Having said that, I have never been kicked out of keto on diet coke. As a matter of fact I have found that I can generally hover around 10g of carbs in one sitting while still maintaining in ketosis. Every person is different.

Consuming protein can reduce circulating ketone levels in some folks, especially in folks with significant metabolic dysregulation. But you wouldn't say that protein "stops keto".

    Now do you understand?

I'm highly doubting it for a majority of people. I know guys who use keto for contest prep and still drink 3-4 cans a day until a few weeks out. I don't know the science behind it though. I would just see how you go and keep a close eye on it.
