    He has the opposite mentality of the all too prevalent "form check" lifters who try to find a study for everything, and it's refreshing to see. At a certain point, you just have to have an idea of where you want to improve, how to do the relevant lifts, and smash weights. A lot of people don't understand the concepts of consistency and effort, and how powerful they are.

    Many people in the gym that I go to try to squat like Rippetoe advocates, and they do their bench presses and their deadlifts. They talk about how they've been lifting for a couple of years, but they had to stop from time to time because of this reason or that. They rest 10 minutes between sets. Some of these grown men have trouble with 135 or 185 on the squat, and almost all of them don't look like they have ever touched a weight. They'd look at a guy like CT with disdain, and probably try to convince themselves that he got like that in spite of what he does, and not because of it.

    This, he is the Ian mccarthy antithesis. Which is exactly what we need tbh. Someone who knows his stuff but just shuts up and lifts the weight.
