Not sure how to start this new thread with a bang... as the 300+ pages of the prior covered A LOT...
but I will say... Let's keep this thread REAL. No FUKKIN TALK OF PG-13 MOVIES THAT CAME OUT POST 1994.
k thx.
Here are some personal thoughts and rehashes to start things off.
Some things sound cliche... but that being said - they became cliche for a reason.
Some of the best horror movies are:
The Shining
Friday the 13th parts 2-7
Nightmare on Elm Street parts 1-4
Halloween 1&2 (original)
Texas Chainsaw parts 1&2 (part 3 was pretty good, and the remakes -except for 3D were pretty good too)
My favorite movies to recommed aren't necessarily great - but have this "corny but awesome" feel to them...
Chopping Mall
Pieces
Slumber Party Massacre
Sorority House Massacre
Spookies
The Town the Dreaded Sundown
Slaughter Hotel
Trashy movies that are fun...
Street Trash
Slime City
The Stuff
Now... many people are going to recommend Japanese and French horror movies... yawn... but ok... I personally don't feel sympathy for the victims in these flicks so they have no effect on me what so ever... but to get it out of the way..
Martyrs
High Tension (Haute if you're pretenscious)
Inside
Frontiers
Audition
Ichi the Killer
Battle Royale (horror?)
Now there is a Korean flick that is going to be recommended repeatedly... by one person... so I'll put that here too -
I Saw the Devil
Zombie movies... Everyone has their flavor... for me personally... it's the Romero flicks... always kick ass.
I like Zombi as well as a few other foreign ones.
Some people enjoy the 28 days and weeks movies... I don't care for them, but they're ok and I can see the appeal to some.
Giallo - I'm not a huge fan... but there are some good ones. I like Tenebre, but mostly only cuz John Saxon is in it (John Saxon can tie Freddy Krueger to Bruce Lee, and thanks to Stay Hungry Freddy is tied to Arnold... thus Arnold is ties to Bruce Lee... that's amazing).
Suspiria is actually a really good movie. The New York Ripper is a good Giallo movie as well.
Some movies where kids kill:
Devil Times Five
Bloody Birthday
The Brood
Mikey
A movie that pisses people off is Eden Lake... but I don't sympathize with Brits so I enjoyed the movie and ending.
The Sinful Dwarf is a fcked up movie that will leave you haveing to take a shwoer afterwards!
/random thoughts... go!

2nd!
watched Cold Fish recently. I don't know if it was intentional but I found myself rooting for the bad guy since the protagonist was so damn pathetic. The payoff at the end didn't cut it for me but overall, the film was unpredictable and had some very memorable bloody moments including the most awkward sex scenes I've ever seen in an asian film (which says a lot) Worth a watch.Last edited by Valenzuelatech; 02-26-2013 at 09:04 AM.

Loved the shining. I am one of those people who enjoy realistic horrors. Something that could happen. That being said the grudge scared the **** out of me when it first came out (I was young). TCM1 was awesome as well. Anyone who has had sleep paralysis was probably scared ****less by insidious, me included.
Edit: forgot about the ring. About a week after I saw that I was sleeping at my grandparents and they had this old ass TV in the room I was in, and it would randomly turn on occasionally (unknown to me) and it did it the night I was there...I was on the bed, in fighting mode about to flying kick the TV in less than 2 seconds.**288**

In. Looking for some slasher films (doesn't have to be high budget, but I would like English)
