I started my cut at around 158lbs on January 14. I just felt I needed to drop my bodyfat regardless of my already low weight for selfesteem(?) reasons.
My stats at the time were around:
3x5 205 Squat
1x5 260 Deadlift
3x5 160 Bench
Now, I am ~147-148 and feel great.
3x5 210 Squat
1x5 255 Deadlift
3x5 165 Bench
Right now, I feel my lifts will continue to progress week by week while I lose weight. Deadlifts have been pretty tough though.
I always thought you get weaker when you lose weight..

Strength is (mostly) the ability to recruit muscle fibers. Learning to do this better (Read: Getting Stronger) can happen even during a cut, especially the newer you are. Actually gaining muscle (hypertrophy) is typically impossible. People who have been training longer typically already have pretty effective muscle fiber recruitment and thus lose strength during a cut due to lack of fuel.
