Losing weight but getting somewhat stronger

I started my cut at around 158lbs on January 14. I just felt I needed to drop my bodyfat regardless of my already low weight for selfesteem(?) reasons.

My stats at the time were around:

    3x5 205 Squat
    1x5 260 Deadlift
    3x5 160 Bench

Now, I am ~147-148 and feel great.

    3x5 210 Squat
    1x5 255 Deadlift
    3x5 165 Bench

Right now, I feel my lifts will continue to progress week by week while I lose weight. Deadlifts have been pretty tough though.

I always thought you get weaker when you lose weight..

That's impressive. You cut, yet your bench and squat increased. Usually when I cut, the weights I could lift before seem much heavier than they did before. Keep it up.

Strength is (mostly) the ability to recruit muscle fibers. Learning to do this better (Read: Getting Stronger) can happen even during a cut, especially the newer you are. Actually gaining muscle (hypertrophy) is typically impossible. People who have been training longer typically already have pretty effective muscle fiber recruitment and thus lose strength during a cut due to lack of fuel.

from where your lifts are at now, looks like its just newbie gains that you maxed out. You never lose those since its not muscular.
There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?

Does this mean that when I start to gain weight again I should be even stronger at that same weight (158).

Also, should my strength gains start to plateau quickly as I continue to lose weight. ie. not possible to keep getting stronger?

They'll eventually plateau during your cut and you'll be fairly linear if not take a step back. The longer you've been lifting and the longer you're in a deficit the more likely you are to plateau. As far as the first question, probably.
