Meal Frequency vs Total daily calorie

Title says it all, im on a cut, i know how many calories i need to lose the weight i want right now, i divided those calories into 4 - 5 meals a day.

On the next month i tried out just consuming all my daily calories in 2 meals only, i didn't notice any difference whatsoever.

So what does really matter, meal frequency or just getting in the total planned daily calories ?

What really matters is hitting a calorie deficet and hitting you daily macro and micro needs for the day. Eat when you are hungry. If that is one meal or 5 whatever works for you.
