Yesterday did 5/3/1...gonna be doin it 3 times a week exchanging amounts of volume and weight (10x10, 3x20/3x20 rack pull, 5/3/1, etc)
Good to work both spectrums, that's how I bump mine up pretty consistently"Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet."

In on this thread. I have no scientific answer for you but I will give some sort of reply.
I believe you can still get big with out doing dead lifts but they are in the category with bench press and squat. Can you get your chest big without bench or your quads without doing squats? Sure. But I feel the big three incorporate such a wealth of muscles in the lift which would be beneficial to overall growth, not to mention training your neural pathways.
Just my take, not even hating on any non-big 3'ers, just my understanding.

Deadlifts are not necessary for optimal growth. That said, they are undoubtedly one of the best single exercise for muscle mass and strength, coming in a close second to squats. There are plenty of famous bodybuilders that never did barbell deadlifts. Kevin Levrone and Dorian Yates are two that come to mind. I think if you are injury free there is no reason not to perform this exercise, however if you are a dickhead then by all means remove deadlifts you will still grow fine.

Deadlifts will make you altogether bigger and stronger and give you a monstrous grip.
