    IIFYM sugar/carb question

    beta, newbie, ******* here. no h8

    Say my daily macros are 200p, 70f, 300c. (and lets say 70g of sugar according to myfitnesspal)

    How much of my 300 carbs need to be complex carbs? Can i literally have 150g of it worth of junk foods?
    I obvioulsly understand that it would be stupid to constantly consume 300g of sugar in the form of simple carbs every day after a while, but how much can i actually have per day? shoulud i stick to the 70g recommended by myfitnesspal or is it safe to have an excess of that determined by your daily carb allowance?

    You need to factor in vitamins, minerals & fibre. Once you meet your daily requirements of those, then you can add in the 'junk'.

    i completely understand that. i do factor in fiber and take my multis/fish oil. i want to know how much junk i can have, can i fit pop tarts and ice cream into as much of the carbs and fat that i want or only within my 70g of sugar advised daily limit?

    Keep your total sugar intake below 100 & you will be fine.

    You should still try to get most of your micros from whole food, not multivitamins.

    I've also been wondering is sugar bad in great amounts. But I have been consuming around 300-350g of sugar pretty much daily for around 3-4 weeks. Is it too much? I do get my vitamins and eat veggies etc. and my total carb intake is daily around 700-750g.

    Sugars are carbs, so what you're asking is "are carbs bad in great amounts", and the answer is not normally.

    Some people are affected by sharp insulin spikes (diabetics, acne, etc.), so obviously it negatively effects them. Everyone's different.
