    Help with toning belts

I expect I will get lot of abuse from people jumping to conclusions but please read
I understand that there is no substitute to exercise... I go to the gym 5 times a week and have a good routine that I do I also eat well
I am wondering if these belts are worth having? Do they work? Anybody used them?
I do also understand that to see abs I need to get rid of all the fat in the way
For the record Im not somebody who wants to be huge in muscle size.. Just trying to get lean and toned

Any help would be great? If these belts are a load of crap what else would you recommend any amazing workouts?

That type of stimulation is designed to prevent atrophy not build muscle. I understand they use similar technology to help hospital patients from losing too much muscle if confined to a bed (so a buddy going through med school told me) They are complete garbage for bodybuilding. There is no shortcut to success. If I had to sum it down to one word

Just another product promising to give you something for nothing.
If it worked everyone would be using it.
Dont fall prey to catchy marketing ads like you see on informercials.
Hard work, determination and the consistent pursuit of your your goal is the price you pay to get what you want.
And as Ringo Starr once sang"It don't come easy".
Pay your dues, educate yourself and get going on the right path to the ab development you want.
One last thing is please don't use the word "toned" in a bodybuilding forum.

something lazy people think will give them abs. Probably the same fatties you see on those vibrating machines that you stand on thinking they are exercising.

These are great! I suggest its all you use. No need to go to the gym or eat healthy as long as you have a decent toning belt. You get what you pay for in my experience though so buy the most expensive one you can find. Keep up the hard work.

I used one years ago just for kicks when they became a bit of a fad. I noticed a strength increase after a couple weeks. Keep in mind this was the only ab "training" I did at the time, so it's worth noting that this strength increase was likely only because something, not nothing, was getting the muscle to contract.

But I set it aside shortly after that because I just couldn't ****ing stand the thing. It's annoying as hell, and it feels pretty horrible really. Simply put, doing actually ab exercises is far more enjoyable and produces better results.

So it's not so much that it "does nothing," it's that it just doesn't do very much, and it's not an enjoyable experience to have your stomach constantly electrocuted and having your ab muscle tighten up like a charlie horse.

    Definitely not recommended.

I made the mistake of buying one or two of these things in the past and yeah, they are a load of rubbish if your goal is to burn fat or build muscle. I find it very hard to trust any infomercial now.

Really? One or TWO? You bought one, it didn't work and thought a different one might work better? If that's the case, I've got a few things to sell you! Just messing with you, we've all been taken in by something in our lives. As everyone says, there's no substitute for hard work. The belt would just be a waste of money.

    Yep.

Weider 'Mega-Mass 2000'--a jug of what turned out to be pancake flour, sugar, and cheap-ass milk protein.

Weider 'Beef Protein Powder' "All the protein of a huge plateful of choice steaks!"-- stuff wouldn't disolve in anything; you could put it in a blender on 'high' for 15 minutes, and it would still be clumpy and nasty. And taste like ass.

Geez; it was awful; tasted like the way burning plastic smells. But any sacrifice for teh gainz, right?

There's currently another supp company selling something similar--beef protein powder. Not gonna mention their name here though; someone might take it as me endorsing it.

    I don't.

As I said at the start I eat amazingly and hit the gym 5 times a week and certainly work hard while there... Was just asking for a bit of advice but clearly this is not the forum to do so... Full of jokers!

No one joked in this thread besides making fun of themselves for buying crap advertised on infomercials. Not one person made fun of you for considering buying one. Hell the one that guy that was either sarcastic or stupid is already banned.
