How did Arnold make money when he first moved to the U.S. ??

He did seminars, magazine interviews and photoshoots etc for Joe Weider then set up his own mail order business and got into construction with Franco.

This. There was actually a group of bodybuilders that would do construction, laying brick and such.
Not sure about the gay for pay stuff, but it wouldn't surprise me. If it's so "well known" though, I can't figure out why this is the first I've heard of it, given that this isn't the first time I've come across this question.
You'd think more folks would talk about it, especially given that Arnold's attitude kinda rubbed some people the wrong way back then (no pun intended).

Weider paid him a small amount, he started a mail order business, then he started a construction business with Franco, then he bought property...he was a millionaire before he ever became famous in the movies.
I don't know if this falls into the category but I heard prostate isn't kept healthy if constant pressure is done on it, I heard it is one of issues for many bikers. Not sure if the pressure from heavy military press puts many pressure on prostate, but according to my personal experience, I think it does, if I sit straight on the bench instead of sitting like inclined bench manner (I can feel the pressure around my prostate if I am sitting vertically with heavy military press)

but yea its pretty common you have Kai, Trijilli, Pj, Correa, plenty of women from what i've read and seen, also there is Kavocs interview about how alot of pros do it when they first start to help pay for there bodybuilding "needs" just look up bodybuilder shmoes.

I've read a lot of talk about Arnold and gay stuff. Most of what I read says that Arnold was a good tease, but didn't perform much and didn't actually do any acts.
It's in a few biographies about him, even the ones that are praise jobs.
Arnold is very much into women, but he was always sympathetic to gays, too.
hard to say for sure. Kind of like Arnold possibly getting calf implants. Depends on who you talk to.
Ric Drasin gave a very interesting take on that.

Arnold did not get calf implants. His calfs were diced you would be able to tell. You can always tell when someone has implants.
