    opinions on working out abs twice a week?

    If you ain't using weights then go crazy, high reps will hardly affect you as much the next day when you're doing compound workouts that involve your abs.

    In my opinion: do about 8-12 WEIGHTED sets a week in the 8-15 rep range. You could break that up into every other day (Monday,wednesday, friday) with three sets each time, or 4-6 sets 2x a week. or any other way you see fit, Its generally accepted that you should take a 48-72 hour rest before you work out the same muscle again.
    I suggest/use weighted decline situps, and Weighted Planks.
    following that routine will give you a strong core for powerlifting/strength training as well as great hypertrophy for the abs
    What are your goals though??? Hypertrophy? strength? support your spine? just general health??

    Your abs are like any other muscle but the only difference is they recover quickly, so two times a week won't overwork them at all. I work my abs every other day pretty much.
