Rejection is part of life and if you go around avoiding it, then you aren't going to realize everything this universe has to offer. The quick, sharp pain of rejection you feel is a very momentary fleeting feeling that will disappear. The pain of "what if", however, can last a life time

Anybody else read where FN got the bid for the army for 120k M4s?
They beat out colt and remington at a cost of $642 a piece.

For a minimum number I like 3.
Why? Two is one and one is none. The second rifle serves as a second/backup/spare. The best spare is a complete functional backup.
The third a light version, a .22lr trainer. This is so you can work on muscle memory and get a lot of trigger time with on-target feedback without spending as much money, and you can work new shooters/children/women/etc in without flinching, and without the gun tiring them out, or burning through your wallet.
What's really enough? More than I'll ever have unless I win the lottery.

HORRY SHET.
-Trade AR with say, six PMags for AK
-Sell other 11 mags and 530+ rounds of 5.56 for a small fortune
-Buy new AR stuff with profit
-Slap Aimpoint back on new AR
-I now have an AK and an AR

But who was mags?
Who was ammo?
1 rifle + mags + ammo >>> 2 rifles and no ammo and a couple mags
Now is NOT the time to be selling your stock of ammo. Especially if you don't even have enough to make it through one serious day, or weekend, of shooting/training. What you need, son, is mo ammo. And critical spare parts, such as a complete bolt, all pins, and all springs.

You never see videos of the aftermath of Katrina when Marshall law was put into affect and cops were busting in people's home and taking their guns. Those who did try to stand up for their rights were thrown to the ground or had a gun drawn on them. Most people will be shocked seeing cops dressed in swat gear bust in their house with weapons detaining them until they get what they want. When people tell me they will die to keep their guns I can't help but recall never hearing about anyone in New Orleans doing such.
The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living are now out numbered by those who vote for a living.

5.56 ammo is coming back into stock, and at much more affordable prices by the week.
Meanwhile I'll have an AK with a stock of AK mags, and 7.62x39mm can actually be found, or I could go the 5.45 route and not even have to try.

Farles, when you sold that 5.56 for $245, did that include shipping?

Hell no, just saying people's attitude changes real quick with a gun aimed at their head. I doubt anyone would resist once they made it into their home. Would you still stand up against them?
Edit: What could you do if a swat team come in your house and detains you to collect all your weapons like in New Orleans? Screaming my rights while you are handcuffed and your face is on the floor won't help. Even though what happened is illegal IMO that did stop them from doing what they wanted.Last edited by nightmare69; 02-26-2013 at 07:22 PM.

No. The deal was selling price ($245 buy it now was activated), add 3% if paying with PayPal (I put that in bold) + $20 ground shipping.
I have not been paid yet. The winning bidder actually lives not too far from here and was trying to meet up, but works 2-10 and isn't generally available to meet, and neither am I, and doesn't seem to be on the computer very long at a time each day so communication has been haulting....anyway I haven't got any money yet. But it's only been a couple days, and he did contact me, and and and...hopefully I get the money soon. A+(3) buyer.

Pretty pumped, had a job interview yesterday... went really well too.
They gave me lots of cool stuff, even a little multi-tool. Great people.

Sweet.
Now, if only this Gunbroker buy would pay up.
And if only that ****ing shipment that UPS either lost or stole or I went full retard and did something with (what, I cannot even guess, because nothing makes sense except somebody jacked it) shows up. At least it was "only" a $95 sale and, if it never shows up, I don't hae to pay shipping again as I can just print the label again since it was never 'picked up'.

I think this shall be my next rifle upgrade. Centurion C4 free float rail, carbine cutout model
http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/Produ...09-CC&CartID=1
Pros:
Uses standard barrel nut
2 piece design, easy install
Keeps front sight base
More reach/rail space than you would otherwise get with a carbine length gas system/FSB
Built in QD attachment points
Solid reptuation
In stock from BCM for super fast shipping
I think I decided that I liked the pros of leaving the FSB there. It's less expensive, less work, and as/more reliable (from a gas operation and sighting perspective) than any other option.
Any reason not to go that route?

Just ran some rough numbers. This is very feasible.
