    Cardio timing.

now, I know this is probably a dumb question and I've searched on here and didn't really find anything. I've read in a couple places, doing cardio after you lift will hinder your gains, and I've read also that it doesn't matter when you do cardio. These both are on pretty old posts though, and I know how much things change in the bodybuilding world so I was wondering what is the most recent thing. cardio before, after, or on non lift days? thanks guys.

What type of cardio do you mean? 10-15 min HIIT or 40min LIT? 15mins twice a week HIIT after workout shouldn't hinder your gains when bulking or cutting just make sure you are eating enough.

Most the time I'm just on a treadmill, bike, or playing basketball. I feel like I burn the most calories playing full court basketball. which, I guess could be a form of HIIT if you think about it.

I am not sure about basketball but playing for 40mins on rest days might be a bit too much although in the end its cals in vs cals out.

Well ill pretty much do cardio, everyday. most the time before my workout but like today, I lifted and then played high intensity basketball from 4-5 o'clock. and after I was done I felt like the skinniest kid in the gym cause I sweat so much. didn't even feel like I worked out.

I wouldn't recommend doing it before the workout. It is probably the worst thing you could do if you want to make gains.

Well you are wasting a lot of energy in the basketball and your lifts are suffering from it. It's defeating the purpose of the workout imho. People drink pre workout drinks in order to lift heavier and have more endurance and you are exhausting yourself playing basketball. Does that make sense?

you're overthinking it, in my opinion. just do it on your off days. don't make it too strenuous though, and you should be fine.
