Will you be taking this with any other pre-workouts or by itself? Additional caffeine?

Thank you!! I was excited to try it

So today was my first workout with PWR. A little background on me: I started powerlifting January of last year. Competed in 242 and the 220 classes. My last meet i cut to 217 and it didnt work out so well for me, i also looked awful as far as body composition. So now i hover around 238-241, and want to lean out at this weight. My daily macros are 60 Fats/350 Carbs/200 Protein. Since i started at this numbers my weight has stayed right where i want it, and strength is slowly going up. I started the juggernaut program at the beginning of december to mainly rehab a mid pec tear. I tore it in August getting ready for a meet in October. I liked how the juggernaut program was basically a more elaborate 5-3-1 and the light weight/high reps gradually counters to high weight/low reps. After upper strength was back without soreness i quickly got bored with the accessory work so now i just go by feel for accessory and keep the main movements as theyre suppose to be.

Today was the start of the 3's wave (each wave has 4 weeks, where the weight gradually intensifies). About an hour after breakfast i took 1 packet with maybe 6oz of water.. kinda eyed it up. Mixed it in a Solo cup with a spoon. Mixability gets an A+ in my book. Counted to 10 as i mixed then sipped, Taste was great (which fruit punch usually isnt bad), and there was nothing left on the bottom. So far so good.

    Day 1 Week 1 Wave 3

Flat BB Bench (working sets @ 240)
    135 x 16 (warm up and stretch)
    240 x 3 (6 sets)
    240 x 10

    Cable Flies (high pulley)
    60 x 10
    80 x 10
100 x 6 (2 sets) (solid chest pump coming in at this point)

    switched to low pulley
    60 x 7
    60 x 6 (2 sets)

Incline BB Bench (see how muscle endurance is at this point)
    135 x 10
    165 x 5
    185 x 5
    205 x 3

My last bench session i squeaked out 185 x 4.. today 185 x 5 felt good and moved on to 205.. which is the most ive done. With so much variables playing a role in strength from day to day, Its hard to say if it was the pre-workout, but its only the first day so we will see!!

EZ Bar Curls (time to bro out)
    75 x 10
    95 x 10
    115 x 4
    95 x 6

Forearms felt like they were going to burst, but i also dont do too much curling.

    Pec Deck
    100 x 15
    140 x 8
    160 x 7
180 x 4 (dying down at this point)

    Hammer Curls
    50 x 6
    45 x 5

So with the last 4 days off from the gym i was recouped going in. My energy was there the whole time and strength wasnt bad (I also had to shovel my car out of 10 inches of snow before leaving, counted that as my cardio). Like i said its only day one, but i was focused and made some improvements over last bench session. So with its taste, mixability, and that fact that i didnt get the tingles from the beta alanine, i like it so far!!

We've been years over due.. last week we got 24" and this week 10, its the most we've had in the last few years combined. The pec tear seems to be 100%, when i tore it i was going for a PR on Bench of 320.. 2 weeks ago i pushed 315 (touch and go) with no problem. When i first started lifting upper in december 135 gave me some pain. I thought it would take forever to get back to where i was

I love driving in it too, my car hates it though

HAHA. Anything to get out of cardio at the gym

Sometimes the tingles are fine but when im hot and sweating pretty good, it drives me nuts haha.

No not a big negative, it comes with some pre-workouts, so definitely not a deal breaker.

Thats good, glad its not a deal breaker. I know it effects me differently all the time.

I have to say you have been doing a great job so far. I am very excited to have PWR available now at BB.com and to let people get the chance to log it.

What are your thoughts on PWR not having the 1,3 in it?

Dont want to lie, im not super familiar with 1,3 dimethyl.. i did however read up on it, not alot of negative information given othen than its banned and there was suspicion that it led to a couple fatal heart failures.. Nothing id be intersted in finding out on my own haha.

I also looked up the red dralion.. seems like it would be a safer alternative to this, similar properties (minus heart failure).. i could be way off but its my take on what ive read (hard to go by that though because some articles are always biased to a point)

And yes like you just mentioned PWR can be found and purchased here: http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/isatori/pwr.html
(probably should have mentioned this in the first post haha..ameteur hour here).. Right now it currently has a 9.8 for a review!! Wont argue that yet.

Tonights workout didnt give it a chance to do too much for me. It was squats night. Normally i take a little while for squats. I had 40 minutes to get it done, so it took out any chance for accessory work.

    Squats (working sets @ 295)
    135 x 5 (stretch and warm up)
    225 x 3
    295 x 3 (6 sets)
    295 x 5

The one thing i can say about it tonight is it kept me going to push through my sets. Working at a faster pace than normal i kept my head in it and didnt really think about it.. My last 2 sets were the better of my sets, with the last one being the best. Form was tight, down and up were nice and slow. Energy was there until the end (though i only got squats done).. This is pretty good for me though considering i normally take forever when doing heavier squats. A good test of this will be tomorrow nights shoulders/tris night. (more volume than this haha). So for tonight in short, Love the taste, mixability, and energy outlasted the time i had at the gym. This stuffs legit so far!!

It's all good about the 1,3. I just thought I would ask because some articles Ive read and friends of mine have there own opinions on 1,3 and product effectiveness.

This is far from amateur hour with your review my man! You have been doing a great job so far and I am glad that PWR is meeting the 9.8 rating so far in your opinion!

Glad you had another solid workout and I look forward to hearing how Shoulders and Tris go tonight!

What are you following for a program?

This is far from amateur hour with your review my man! You have been doing a great job so far and I am glad that PWR is meeting the 9.8 rating so far in your opinion!

Glad you had another solid workout and I look forward to hearing how Shoulders and Tris go tonight!

What are you following for a program?
Thanks man, i appreciate it!! Im looking forward to shoulders too, may be my favorite body part to work right now (maybe because its my weakest)

Modified Juggernaut training program.xlsx Its a ripped apart juggernaut program. So basically i follow the main lifts for this and do whatever i feel for accessory. If i feel good i'll go heavy, if im pretty worn ill go lighter and just go higher reps. So for the working sets, say i calls for 7 sets of 3.. I do 6 sets of the 3 it says then the last set is as many as i can get with leaving 2 in the tank. (except the 3rd week of each wave, thats an all out week, leave nothing in the tank)

Thanks for shooting me the program. I have seen people talking about it in the forums. Looks like fun! That's how I put together my programs typically as well steal an main concept from and add my spin to it!

I think thats the best way.. the main lifts are usually good, but the accessory work sometimes doesnt go along with how my body feels that day.

Thanks man.. i will say i havent had a crash yet.. and tonight i pushed it harder than normal. Working with supersets which is not my norm but i felt good going in to tonight. Plenty of energy. After dinner waited a little over an hour and mixed a packet with 4oz of water. Still mixing it with just a spoon and nothing left behind. My workouts are typically slow paced, but tonight i moved a bit faster.

Standing Overhead Press (working sets @ 140)
    bar x 10 (stretch)
    115 x 5 (warm up)
    140 x 3 (6 sets) (45 seconds rest in between sets)
    140 x 10 (leaving 2 in the tank)

Barbell Front Raise superset with Tricep Push Down (v-bar)
    60 x 8.....................80 x 15
    70 x 8 (2 sets).........100 x 12 (2 sets)

Machine Tricep Push Down superset with Seated DB Press
200 x 15...........................55 x 3 (getting fatigued) (switched to seated DB press first)
    45 x 10 .........................200 x 10
    50 x 10...........................200 x 11 (got pinned on 11.. i was sweating up a storm)

    Tricep Cable Ext. (high pulley)
    60 x 10, 8, 10

Total workout took just over 50 minutes. This is the pretty high intensity for me, amd i was in it until the end. Felt good to get some volume in there. After the BB front raises and tri push downs, my chest and upper arms were full, had a serious pump going, no crash after. The energy comes on smooth and goes the same way. This stuff is great so far. I have 2 off nights, tomorrow and thursday to go snowboarding (my cardio for the week) and then back at it friday. Looking forward to getting back to it at the end of the week.

Awesome my man! Enjoy your rest days! Nothing like kicking your butt for a few days and taking a step back to let your body recover! I am jealous that you are heading up to board! I haven't had a chance to do that this year....

The couple days off felt awesome. This is only my 2nd time out this year unfortunately. I use to go every weekend but somehow have gotten away from that. bummer. Back to it tonight though. Deadlifts and squats. Usually doesnt happen like that but deads got pushed back a night and a few buddies and have a friday night squats session just about every week unless something comes up. Looking forward to getting back in the gym!!

Its about as exciting as it gets when you get old man.. haha jk.. i love friday night squats.. adding deads in was brutal.. not use to working this hard.. makes me feel like im sandbaggin my other workouts. By the time i got home i had very little time to eat and get my things for the gym. So i ate real quick/light and took a packet of PWR with 4oz of water.. love the taste still, its a taste that wont wear on you i think. Not on an empty stomache as recommended but still got the extra boost i needed to get through my workout. Since i was short on time i had to work faster again which is kind of growing on me (maybe because its a change from my normal routine), Its nice to have something help drive me through it. Theres no energy spike and crash like energy drinks and its not as harsh as some other pre's ive had (adverse stomache reactions, possibly due to the caffeine, not sure..groce right..sorry..dont judge me).

So to warm up my legs i tried something a little different (a buddy suggested it)

    Leg Adductor Machine
1 light set of 50 reps

    Leg Abductor Machine
1 light set of 50 reps

    Leg Curls
1 light set of 50 reps

    Leg Extensions
1 light set of 50 reps

By the time that was done i had a mean leg burn.. Moved right to squats with deadlift sets in between

    Squats......................................... Deadlifts
    135 x 10 (slow)
    185 x 5 (slow)
    225 x 5 (slow)
    275 x 3
295 x 2 (5 sets)..........................330 x 3 (6 sets).. went from squat to deads then back under the bar.. after this i was toast.. my last sets were as strong as the first ones though.. still drove right through, no fatigue.

I was suppose to get 7 sets of deads but the turkey working tonight was unloading the bar after my 6th set complaining that he wanted to go home. unreal.

Muscles feel full when im working at this accelerated pace and the energy stays right through. I like how it feels working through harder than normal and being able to keep pushing through... Hoping to be able this pace for the rest of workouts for this log.

Tomorrow will be a light day in the gym so no pre-workout needed, then week 2 of the 3's wave starts on sunday.. looking forward to trying that 6 sets of 10 that sean mentioned in ScottRoland's log

Oh man... I did the 6 sets of the 6 ways.. holy crap!! I used 5lb dumbells for 5 of the sets and 10lb for the last set only. The last few reps were a grind. I got plenty of funny looks, caught a couple guys staring and got made fun of by my friends wife, but there was no way myself or any of them were doing this for any higher. It felt good to get through them though.

Thanks alot bro!! glad to have to along!! I sleep fine, Typically i take it around 8:30pm and im in bed at 11ish. I rarely have trouble sleeping anyways, and using this doesnt interfere with that

Today was the start of the 2nd week of the 3's wave. Looking forward to benching. I did sleep in a little late instead of eating breakfast (this is rare). So i had just a mini bagel and strawberry cream cheese. I waited a half hour then had a packet of PWR with 4oz of water. It happened!!! I got the tingles on the way to the gym(as i was pulling in)

Now its time to work these off haha.

Flat Bench Press (working sets @ 255)
    135 x 20 (warm up and stretch)
    215 x 1
    240 x 1
    255 x 3 (4 sets)
    255 x 8 (left maybe 2 in the tank)
Now with me upcoming meet just around the corner i want to spinkle in a paused single hear and there. My predicted 2nd attempt on bench was going to be 300 (which ive missed twice at meets). Came down and paused for a couple seconds and pushed it up with no problem
    300 x 1
Im hoping my strength stays up through the meet. Feels good.

Then moved on to the 6 ways Sean suggested in another thread.. oh dayum!!

    6 Ways
    5 sets of 10 with 5lbs
1 set of 10 with 10lbs (this was nuts.. definitely felt a huge burn when i wasnt even halfway through)

Before hitting decline I had a serious pump. Shoulders, Front delts, and traps were full (almost ripped my shirt off and paraded around, but i held back..this time)

    Decline Bench
    135 x 10
    225 x 10
    275 x 5
    285 x 5

Then to finish it off i superset cable tri pull downs (one arm) with cable concentration curls

Sets of those until it burned bad (get the beach muscles ready for the summer..slowly)

Felt it more today than any other day (maybe with my stomache having little in it?) Had plenty of energy to push heavy on bench and go right through the 6 ways. I had my brother doing it with me so the only rest was when the other person was going and no stopping during the sets, just burning right through. Was definitely happy to have this along to help get through this!! (The tingles only lasted a few minutes not too bad at all)
