Pain in hip sitting cross legged

I don't get pain any other time, just when I try and sit cross legged. In my right hip deep in, it feels like it's where the bones connect I get a pain when sitting cross legged yet my left side is fine.

I did this stretch for a while and go it under control but the stretch did not feel good on my knees so I stopped and the pain came back.

    (won't imbed for some reason)

I'm not sure what can be causing it, it can be treated with that stretch but once I stop it goes back to normal. Could it be lifestyle factors such as sitting or certain activities or could it be that I'm just not as flexible on that side or tighter that side for some reason?

I also read a post on another site that desrcibes the same situation:

    http://forums.runnersworld.com/forum...g-hip-out-pain

"Thanks for the replies. I should say that i dont have any pain at all unless i try to turn my hip out. Its almost like it get stopped or stuck. So, if I sit on the floor and put the *heels* of my feet together, I can push on my left knee and it can go to about 4 inches above the floor. My right side (the side with the problem) maybe 8 or 10 inches above the floor. Its like i have little flexibility in that direction. Significant differences. It hurts to push it more than that. That is exactly what reproduces the pain and i dont get it from running, walking, sitting, jumping or anything like that. Im not taking any NSAIDs because it doesnt hurt all of the time."

This is pretty much the same thing that is happening to me.

I had some bowen massage done and it didn't help, I am thinking of maybe going to the physio but if someone here knows what's wrong that would be better than throwing money at heaps of differen't specialists and not fixing the problem.
