Sorry i'm brand new and don't know which forum to put this in.
I took these pics 5 mins ago.
Ideally, i want to lose some flab and gain some muscle bulk. Not trying to become beefcake supertank, but i'd like to be leaner and stronger.
My main question is about cutting vs. muscle.
I'm no stranger to fasting. Normally i don't fast simply to cut weight, it's used more to detoxify and for spiritual reasons, but weight loss is inevitable when not eating. I've done several fasts for 3-7 days, but last year i did one fast that was 32 days. When i fast i eat no food whatsoever, the only thing i ingest is water and coffee.
I have no problem cutting food out for a week or two before starting a weight lifting regimen if that's what may be recomended. I don't take drug tests but i have used some drugs recently, a complete food fast might help me clean the system of toxins and a lil fat. But i want to obtain a bit more strength as well.
Looking for experienced opinions. I have read that after a food fast, muscle building comes easier. Of course there will be some muscle loss during the fast, but that doesn't worry me too much i'm really not that strong anyways. I am only 5 foot 6, so i look stronger than i really am in the pic. My guess is weight between 145 and 150

I would bulk then cut. Get on a program like Jason's 5x5 and eat at a surplus and you'll grow.
