I did some decline sit-ups and leg raises over a month ago and when I try to do them now, I get this really sharp pain in my lower abdomen. It's like that muscle group hasn't fully healed. It's right above my (not to sound gross) by pubic area. Imagine a V-shape going down to your groin. The pain would be near the tip of the V, right below my belt line. It only occurs when I do decline sit-ups. I can still squat, lunge, dead lift, do crunches, etc. It's unbearable pain and I've given it plenty of time to recover.
There are no lumps or anything odd with that region. Can anyone give me any insight on this? Do I just need to give it more time to recover?

I have had a number on injuries that made most sit ups just too painful, but I could do leg lifts with weights. Reently on a monday I tried decline situps woth 5 lbs held behind my head. 2 reps Wednesday I was too sore to attempt anymore. Friday I did manage 2 again. After that I did get to the point where sslloowwyy I added reps and am now doing 5 sets of 10 reps and the weights are slowly increasing, and waist is down 2+ inches. Move super slowly.
Remember, you are 38 years olde, and olde man, make progress slowly at that age junior.Last edited by philipj; 02-17-2013 at 08:58 AM.
