what do you mean by forever? Can i arrange it so that it would transfer to family after I do?
otherwise, if you just do an Algebra 1 equation i think it'd take 9 years for teh $3k/day to add up to $10mill then every day after that you'd be making more.... In theory I'd do that.
In real tea... tempted to just take the $10mill- life could literally end at any moment.~Yesterday you said tomorrow~

It would take about 9 years at 3k per day to save 10million. If you get 3k per day while you are in your 20's you will inevitably live long enough to double or even triple the 10 million.
I would take 3k per day. Like the poster above said "3k per day spending limit" implying most people would actually spend 3k per day.
So give these same people 10 million and they would blow it in a year. have any of you watched that show on discovery channel "How the lottery changed my life."
“The reality is that 70 percent of all lottery winners will squander away their winnings in a few years,” the Connecticut financial advisers said in a news release. “In the process, they will see family and friendships destroyed and the financial security they hoped for disappear.”“We know from studies and our own internal research that when new wealth is created in a family, there is a 90 percent probability that all of that wealth will be gone by the third generation,” LePage said in the release. “And that’s among families who have worked hard for years to achieve success. When people receive sudden wealth, like in a lottery jackpot, the numbers are much worse.”
according to statistics 1/10 who say that will actually do it.
Edit:Statistics are for winners who have win 15million up to 125 millionEE

3k a day easily. That way I don't spend all my money on something fukking stupid like a sports car or some ****. I would buy some cool **** and then just be ****ed over in the future. I like the idea of a large spending cap and then when the day comes that I mature I'll still be making over a million dollars a year.

The simplest calculation would be:
$10,000,000 today = $10,000,000
$3,000 per day in perpetuity = $3,000 / daily discount rate
Annual rate of return is even at 10.95%. If you can earn greater than 10.95%, take the money now. If you can't, take the $3k/day. Of course there's a dozen other factors that could contribute to your decision.

The other thread that was stupid was when the option was 300/day. There is absolutely no question there and anyone who picked 300 is an epic moron.
3000/day = $1,095,000 = 10.95%/year.
There is no such thing as a riskless investment that yields 10.95%/year. Granted, you can draw down principal with the 10 mil, but with 50-60 years of life in front of me, I'd rather have the security of the 3k/day.
3k/day crew checkin in.
