I'm thinking about doing weighted dips twice a week even though i have isolation splits. Once on arm day (close grip dips), once on chest day (wide grip dips). Is this a bad idea? What do you guys think

I have been incorporating weighted dips into my workouts for the past 6 months and have seen tremendous gains in both strength and size. However, I recommend using a medium to close grip for both days. For chest, simply lean forward while performing the dip and for triceps simply cross your feet and keep your body straight. On both versions you will be hitting all three heads of the shoulder. Typically, I will do chest (weighted dips) on Mondays and then arms on Thursdays (weight dips again), and on both days I incorporate both pyramid/drop sets for my weight dips. For example, I always warm up with 20 non-weight dips, then go to 45lbs for 15-18, then 90lbs for 12-10, and then up to 125lbs for 6-8, from there I then drop back down to 90 for 12-10, 45 for 15-18, and then non-weight until fatigue. The wide grip (at least for me) puts to much strain on my shoulders so I tend to avoid going wide. I hope that helps? Best of luck.
