hmm, squatting is good for burning cals but if your cutting aren't you better off doing more cardio? squatting that much a week may cause injuy or fatigue along with your cutting, since your not bulking you may not have the food energy to do that much..

It seems like way too much, and screaming for overtraining IMO. Try x2 a week keeping it at 72 hrs rest in between squats.

You answered your own question, if you are "recovering fine" then you shouldn't need to worry about over training.

Just make sure to stretch and foam roll your hip flexors and you'll be fine.

Definitely could lead to over training or injury, but it really all depends on how you feel and how you're recovering. I'm currently cutting and I know the last thing I would want to do is squat 4x a week, I'd be dead

I'm not cutting but I am doing Smolov which is 4x a week and haven't had any injuries, just make sure to use a roller, though squatting 4x a week might become too taxing in the long run on a cut.

a lot of useless brosciency bullchit itt. squatting 4 times a week is fine, and good at that. frequency>volume *******. if you aren't squatting at least 2x a week its take some getting used too though, also your hip problem can be fixed by daily mobility and stretching exercises.

(not you jericoe my brah, not you)

I squatted 4x per week when on BLSS and it worked wonders for me. If you are "recovering fine" then ffs you are recovering fine. Stretch/foam roll your flexors.
Dont let any of these guys to get to you. If you CAN squat 4x per week and recover fine then by all means you should do so!

If you squatted 4 times a week while you were bulking you should keep it that way even when you're in a deficit. If you aren't feeling too tired to squat 4 times a week it's completely fine. Overtraining is overrated, it's quite hard to be overtrained if you aren't a competitive powerlifter or close to that.

If overtraining is overrated, then I'll be damned son because arnold was training 5 hours a day, whereas mentzler was barely in the gym training for more then 30 minutes 2 or 3 times a week. It depends on your body and it's really underrated . respectfully disagreed

Steroids aren't a real help when it comes to overtraining anyway, they just enhance the performance of your muscle, not the endurance of your CNS, which is why people get "overtrained" no matter how much drugs they use.

Currently squatting 4x a week. I get sore as hell sometimes, but I never feel overtrained. I suggest trying it, i mean why not? I wouldnt do it fro any Longer than 3-4 weeks though. Your legs do need some rest.

I don't mimic bodybuilders...that is a real dumb thing to do...

You must be lifting really light to be avoiding overtraining. Not sure how anyone can surivive multiple days of squatting to failure espeically when your back is invovled...very risky. Unless all your doing is squatting..no deadlifts? shoulders? Then MAYBE.

Overtraining is one of the reasons why people don't grow

Where's yourt picture? i'd like to see your results if your squatting 4 times a week. .
[QUOTE=naich;1025406773]both were assisted using cellular technology, you'd be a real idiot if you mimicked them in the slightest, or took any of there advise. listen to proven natural pros if you want to mimic someone.

depends on the amount of volume srs, if you are just going up to singles on squats obviously you can do it 7x a week like broz style

Overtraining is mostly in your head. If you think you'll reach the stage of overtraining chances are you're going to.
