This is the biggest fleece on the public ever.
brb - More people laid off now because employers wont be able to afford to keep them
brb - Businesses raise their prices to offset the cost of business
brb - Employee's that were willing to work for 'x' dollars + businesses that were willing to pay 'x' dollars = mutually screwed
brb - Businesses cut jobs = reduced customer service = possibly lose customers = possibly go out of business
lolz at Obama justifying it by saying people can buy more stuff now. More stuff ... more spending ... ya buddy!
Edit #1:
I've seen all the baloney posted about how companies can do this and that ... and the amount is minimal yadda yadda yadda.
This isn't as much of a bane on people and corporations as much as it is on small businesses. How does it benefit society when someone who is willing to work for $7.25 (college kids, high school kids, people just starting out for experience, older people, commission situations, etc) and a business that needs the manpower now has to let that person go and force the remaining people to work that much harder while provided less services to their customers?
I've been in a situation like this. It's not fun watching a guy and his wife, whom have put their life savings on the line... let their only employee go because they can't afford them and they can't afford to raise their prices. Now they have to add an additional 30 hrs a week on to their already 60+ hrs a week.
srs... regulations will be the death of small businesses and our economy.
Edit #2:
Milton Friedman explained the situation very well decades ago:

The Fair Minimum Wage Act of 2007[1] is a US Act of Congress that amended the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 to gradually raise the federal minimum wage from $5.15 per hour to $7.25 per hour. It was signed into law on May 25, 2007 as part of the U.S. Troop Readiness, Veterans' Care, Katrina Recovery, and Iraq Accountability Appropriations Act, 2007. The act raises the federal minimum wage in 3 increments: to $5.85 per hour 60 days after enactment (2007-07-24), to $6.55 per hour 12 months after that (2008-07-24), and finally to $7.25 per hour 12 months after that (2009-07-24).

when raising minimum wage, corporate tax rates should be lowered
The muscles i value most are the ones directly surrounding the spine, the hips, the scapula, the femur and the tibia... in that order.
Basically the whole body minus chest and biceps... pretty much the opposite of what your local gym looks like on a typical Monday.

The current federal minimum wage is $7.25 per hour. If a minimum wage worker is employed full-time (forty hours per week for 52 weeks), thatworker would earn $15,080 annually.
In 2011, the poverty threshold for a single individual was $11,702 and the poverty threshold for a family of 4 with two children under 18 was $22,881."Man cannot remake himself without suffering, for he is both the marble and the sculptor."
